Should be an interesting year for the Roos this year. According to the betting agencies, they're expected to finish bottom 5. However if you click on the North Board, apparantly they're shoe-ins for the top 6.

Will 2007 prove a 'one off', or will they be the real deal in 2008?

Thoughts?

I'm expecting a top 8 finish. If we have a good run with injuries top 4 is possible, however if we have a bad run missing the finals could happen. The bookies had us at favorites for the spoon last year and we made top 4.

I'll tell you one thing. They're a damn sight better than Melbourne. Their youngsters are far and away better than yours.

Shouldn't you be off trying to sign up new members? You look as though you need it.
After reading your 3 lines of dribble, I still couldn't find a yes or no answer.

BTW I'm quite happy with our under 23 talent of:

McLean (future captain. Has won a final off his own boot.)
Jones (3rd in NAB Rising star behind Selwood and Pendlebury)
Bate (kicks 55 metre goals off one step. Has polled a BOG in brownlow. Will be a marquee foward within 1-2 years)
Rivers - NAB Rising Star Award winner. The general in defence. A premium defender
Bell (Gutsy and pacey small defender who never gives up. Held Scott Welsh to 0 goals when he was in hot form. Will be a premium defender by the end of the year)
Dunn (Will be a Chad Cornes utililty who can play on the oppositions best one minute and provide a key forward target the next)
Sylvia (His time is now. Classy, tough don't take shit sort of player who is a strong overhead mark with great goal sense.)
Newton (Only played 9 games, but has already taken mark of the year, while kicking 1-3 goals each week. Will be the next big thing up-forward.
Petterd - NAB rising star nomination in 2nd game. Classy and courageous wingman/half-back who wasn't afraid to mix it with Barry Hall in his debut at the SCG.

We also have picked up Morton, Grimes and Marric in the first 22 picks in the 2007 draft.

Despite what all you muppets think, Melbourne has one of the more talented under 23 groups in the AFL.

Jesus, you are obessesed.

What was with "If the Roos win agaisnt the Dockers, I will leave them alone and they have my respect" thread?

You talk bullshit. Thats what. Oh and try raising your membership to something close to 20,000 please.

Melbourne are now firmly the crappest club off field.

It's all talk from JB at the moment. If the Roos fail, he'll be remembered for destroying your club.

Yeah our membership is shithouse (I can't control that..but I'm paid up), but it's been better than yours for many years. It's good to see Roo members finally hopping on board - at the last second.

Anyway, I can't be arsed talking about off-field. I want to know what people think of North for 2008?

On-field? Finished as the 3rd best team.

Melbourne? bottom four.

Off-field? we have 5000-6000 more members than your pathetic club who hasnt won a premiership in ages.

So yeah, Melbourne need to improve to be near the Roos.

Are you taking the micky H2F, or do you genuinely believe the Roos are a show for 16th place?
Hodge2franklin is one of those posters who has even admitted he decides a clubs fortune on which ever supporters have pissed him off the most or attacked Hawforn the most at the time.

I don't know if they'll finish top 3 as they did in '07, but they'll definitely make the 8 unless some serious things go wrong. They're much better than all the teams that didn't make it, and better than some teams who did.
