Ch 10 is the king of HD IMO. Ch 7 are rather poor in this area by comparison.

It would have been better if 10 and 9 did the footy - now that 9 have done a cricket match in HD (the 20-20), they would have used it for the footy IMO.

Ch7 are pretty poor in EVERY area by comparison. Makes you think just how good we had it when Ch9 had the contract. No coverage in HD, lousy camera angles & editing, plus the worst commentary team in the history of broadcasting (so bad that not even Cometti's occasional gems can save it).

Have now developed an almost Obsessive Compulsive Disorder like habit - stabbing at the mute button whenever Bruce "Special" McAvaney opens his mouth to make another inane and pointless comment.

Channel 7 paid more than they could afford for TV rights...Hence Bruce and Tim Watson have a job as they will commentate for a free feed.

Now in comparison I prefer games on 9 than 7.


7 remind me of a holden commodore the way they present, gets the job done but lacks style and grace.

9 try to be like a BMW. The job is great, but the driver is a knob !

i rated ch 9 actually, unlike most ppl i enjoyed their work with the camera's and the commentators were above average

Channel 9 was a big thumbs up for me.

I am an Eddie Fan and the team of Eddie, Dennis, Dermie and Gary Lyon on a Friday night has been missed in my Footy viewing.

Dennis with Bruce has lost its magic.

Thats because Channel 7's high def is 576p, technically it isnt really high def while Channel 10 broadcast in 1080i which is far better quality picture and is actually a high definition signal.

I agree Channel Nine were always good as long as you didn't get Brian Taylor, Brayshaw was always good for a laugh, Channel Seven well they are just crap right from the fake stadium intro's to the footy boots dropping as an ad break intro the whole thing screams AMATEURS!

Last year 7 was like amatuer hour - and suffering Brooce made it all the more nauseating.

Regardless, it doesn't matter what they are broadcasting in, if they record the tv in a lower resolution, it will still not look as good.

Last nights match didn't look too flash, it might even have been recorded in analog or something and crappily converted into digital, and then sent out on the SD channel.

You are right, last time I checked that site (late December) they were in 720p

You are right in thinking that they must have recently changed it, they were definately broadcasting in 576p up until recently which was the worst out of all of the commerical channels.
