I'll be calling it Colonial once again.
Why? Makes as much sense as calling it just "Telstra".

Not quite.
Different connotations for starters. It was the original name (when it opened for business), too.

I object to a Dubai based company sponsoring an Australian stadium with a foreign name. Any problem with that? FTR I don't eat Vegemite, it may be un Australian but I just don't particularly like it (don't hate it, don't love it, would rather eat something else)
And as for the UAE, there are plenty of reasons not to like a country full of rich oil tycoons which denies visas to tennis players based on political reasons. That's just the start really.
But you don't have to agree with me, it's also a stupid name.
So you think it's cool to deny a tennis player a visa because the country she was born in is involved in a questionable war? What exactly is your moral high ground here - I think that Shahar Peer should be allowed to play tennis because she's a tennis player, not a politician, am I being immoral now? Funny that the WTA, Andy Roddick, Amelie Mauresmo and others agree with me.I take it then you'll also be boycotting clubs and stadiums with American based sponsors as well for 'moral' reasons (IE illegal and immoral invasion and war in Iraq that has killed hundreds of thousands of innocent people) and basically arrogantly ignoring the Geneva Convention by the use of illegally torturing prisoners (Gitmo Bay)
The UAE banned a female tennis player cause she was from Israel, following the countries bombadment of Gaza, so I don't think you should take the moral high ground there ..
Who even knows what Hisense Arena is? They play minor tennis games and basketball there. Who cares what it's called, barely anyone goes there anyway.i don't understand how the corporate name change of a stadium can be a topic of debate.
Etihad bought the rights to the name, it's no longer referred to as the Telstra Dome. I don't see what the big deal is
was there this much fuss made over Hisense arena when it took over from Vodafone?
I used to call it Telstra Dome, but Docklands is looking good now.NO! I will call it DOCKLANDS! Always have and always will!
