I was in Germany for a week and was astounded at how a beautiful countryside has been devastated by hundreds of monster wind generators.

I well remember, and agreed with the sinking of power lines to keep the beautiful, beautiful. Surely this crass pollution of the countryside is environmentally disgraceful.

What more are these sad, so called 'environmentalists' going to do to pollute the world in the name of their hypothetical mantra?

You get better sunrises and sunsets with smog.

Germany are arguably the home of renewable energy- wind and photovoltaic.

How pretty would a coal smelter or nuclear power plant be though? :(

I think wind generators are beautiful, and there's plenty of unspoiled German territory. Anyway, I'd rather see wind generators on the ground than black in the sky. And since when did technology become such an ugly thing? So I guess cities are ugly too?

^^ Excellent points, I wonder what Frodo would think if he went to Germany twenty years ago when the sky was black and the forests decaying from acid rain?

Have a look around the Ruhrgebiet-plenty of smoke around the largest industrial area in Europe.

Also, I reckon wind towers look alright
