I noticed that Goodwin has gone from being a test to now being listed as indefinate on the latest injury list. I actually thought he was close to playing last weekend against North Melbourne.

Has his knee flared up mid week or is he carrying another injury?

He's looked good this year, as always, and gives good direction down back especially when Bock and Rutten were out.

I have a source, (you know who you are ;)), who says that Moss is out for the season. :( We better not delist him.
I spotted him and his girlfriend in K-mart about half an hour before the game on the weekend. He still has a bit of a limp when he walks so I would assume it's season over for Mossy. Bad news for him (and Centrals) but hopefully he can get fit again.

This source is near true, unfortunately for Mossy.

But will this mean he get's upgraded? The club rate him very highly.
They have 3 options...
1. Delist.
2. Upgrade to the senior list.
3. Rookie list for a 3rd year.

Options 1 & 2 are straight forward. Option 3 needs a bit of explanation.

Clubs are able to rookie list a player for a 3rd year. However, they need to formally delist them and allow them to go through the National Draft. If someone selects them in the ND, then that's just bad luck and we lose our hold on the player. If not, then we can pre-list them ahead of the Rookie List, much the same as with Irish & NSW Scholarship players. Once they're pre-listed, they're untouchable by the other clubs. Brisbane went through this process last year with Joel Tippett.

Might be option 3 then.

Goody is 50/50

Crows captain Simon Goodwin rates himself a “50/50 chance” to return for Saturday’s clash with Sydney at AAMI Stadium.

Goodwin, who strained a medial ligament in his right knee against Essendon on June 7, has resumed running but the club will continue to monitor his progress this week before deciding if he is ready to play his 250th AFL game.

Brent Reilly’s hamstring strain will keep him out for another week but Graham Johncock and Richard Douglas, who missed the North Melbourne game through illness, both trained on Saturday at Adelaide Oval and will be available.

And Brett Burton seems set to play his first game since his knee reconstruction, almost certainly returning with his SANFL club Woodville-West Torrens on Sunday.

Two Crows picked up injuries in the SANFL on the weekend. Nick Gill copped a serious ankle injury and could be out for five to six weeks, while Jarrhan Jacky’s hamstring strain is expected to sideline him for two or three games.

Ruckman Jonathon Griffin, who has been troubled but a calf strain, will miss another game.

You would think that barring Hentschel and Burton both getting injured again prior to the end of the year that it is almost certainly curtains for Gill.

I think his actual football ability has been underrated by many due to goalkicking issues (which he had improved to a degree). Could mark, run, tackle, handball well, and his field kicking was usually good. Was just showing he could play as a rebounding defender also, thus meaning he was a perfect tall depth player even if he didn't make the 22.

Unfortunately to be a depth player, you need to actually be fit to play most of the time :(

If Hentschel gets an injury again, do people reckon we'll ditch them both at years end?

Unfortunately for Trent, yes. A sad way for what could have been :(

Gill, thanks for what you have provided, But seeya later. Good luck in future endeavours

He's close to ready to go again I believe.

This begs to differ.. http://www.afc.com.au/injuries/tabid/8711/default.aspx

I must have been thinking of Burton then :( Hmm.

Moss still listed as an indefinite breaks my heart :(

Fired an email off to Schwerdty about Moss, got this back from him:

I can say that he has some difficulties in getting back to full training since his surgery but is back running again and we are optimistic that he may be back in full training in the next 4 -5 weeks if everything goes to plan.

I find it quite remarkable that all these different people at the club can actually be bothered responding to randoms emailing them obscure questions.

We really are quite lucky

ADELAIDE captain Simon Goodwin will spend a second week on the sidelines as he fights to overcome a knee injury.

Goodwin sat out his side's win over North Melbourne and earned an extra week's recovery with the split round, but will still miss the clash with the Sydney Swans at AAMI Stadium on Saturday.

The 32-year-old's next match will be the 250th of his career.

However, the Crows have received a boost with confirmation that forward Brett Burton will make an awaited return via the SANFL this weekend.

Burton had his knee reconstructed after tearing an anterior cruciate ligament against Collingwood in round 15 last year.

Coach Neil Craig told afl.com.au last week that Burton only needed clearance from medical staff to make his comeback.

Rendell just seems awesome. Either thaat or he's palming work to Schwerdty

Nah, he's been really good to me, probably has replied to 30 or so emails in the past few months. This is the first time he's said he's not sure about something (said he wasn't sure of Moss' current rehab going-ons) and suggested a few names to try, one of which was Schwerdt.

Anyone know when Goody will likely be back? Man cmndstab i wish we had those guys at hawthorn but the publicity in Victoria possibly would'nt be good for any football club...
