Re: Wirra's Future to be decided On Tuesday.

Thread title sadly edited. :(

Congratulations Wirra on a fantastic career, one of my all time favourite Eagles and a fantastic guy as well.

Wish him the best of luck with the new baby boy and whatever he chooses to do in the future. Would be great to keep him around at the club, he can do whatever he likes.

Re: Wirra's Future to be decided On Tuesday.

I had honestly expected him to play next season, though, that said, I'm not surprised he's hung up the boots, new baby and all.

All the best to Wirra, he's been one of my favourite players since he was drafted, and he's a top bloke, gun of the highest order.

Re: Wirra's Future to be decided On Tuesday.

I heard on friday that an ex-eagle (legend) and his wife were going to the game cos it was gonna be wirra's last. I nearly fell over when I switched it on and he wasn't playing (obvious reasons).

I wondered if he had a rethink cos he missed the game & i didn't hear anything.

But good luck to him he had the best hands below his knees, always one touch, he was like a vacuum cleaner! Only time he 'fumbled' was to paddle it to his advantage.

Re: Wirra's Future to be decided On Tuesday.

Great player. I heard he'll still be willing to play WAFL football like Hunter.

****! There goes another one. How many 2006 premiership players is that now?

Pretty disappointing especially if forced. Showed good form up forward and now some players will be gifted a spot they don't deserve.

Personally, i can't believe he didn't want to go around again.

Re: Wirra's Future to be decided On Tuesday.

Congrats on a good carreer Wirra. Champion player, champion bloke. There needs to be more like you.

I agree. My favourite player. goes for the ball not the man.will be sorely missed. Thanks for all those good years Mate.:thumbsu:

I thought he had at least one more year left. But wat a legend!!!!!!!! He's achieved everything in football that some people can only dream of.

I wonder who'll replace him in the backline?????

We love you WIRRA. :)

Probably in my top 3 favourite modern WCE players (along with Hunter and Chick), sadly all three are gone now.
Congrats on a great career Wirra, probably could of gone through once more but as others have pointed out it's better to go out when you are still playing good footy then go a year to long.

Was hoping he would go around again. A dead set gun player who was amazing to watch and a champion bloke too boot.

All the best Wirra you legend!

He was too young. Sad sad day for West Coast. I'm seriously going to miss his silky skills and his awesome pick ups.

sad to see him go. he was a true legend. i hope he plays the mainy game so he can get a true send off. lets hope he uses his time off to make more boys for us. wouldnt mind some wirra octuplets playing for us in 20 years.

They don't really deserve to be in the same category as Punda, not only as footballers but as blokes in general.
