If we could pick up any one player from another team, who would u want? I'm not talking the best overall player in the league, but the one who would be most useful to us, fit in the best, etc etc etc.
Personally, i'd probably go for Byron Pickett- excellent small defender, great tackler, and dynamic up forward.

You'd want Chris Grant more, I reckon.

I'd take Johnathan Brown.
That's *Johnathan* Brown - Not the fat loud mouth from Freo.
He could play CHF for the next ten years, which would allow Gardy back into the ruck.

Justin Longmuir wouldn't be bad either. I'd rotate him and Gardy through CHF.

Yeah, up yours :D

I think that if you look at WCE structure, what you most need is a CHF, regardless of which players you may think are better to barrack for.

What do Hardwick and Pickett have in common? Port Adelaide ;)

John Brown would be an excellent choice. Tredrea won't be the next Carey because he lacks the aggression. Brown has it.

I dont think it's just at CHF, I think youll find its key position players period we need. Particularly down back, with McIntosh already looking proppy to me I cant see him being fit most of the season let alone all of it, Jakovich isnt getting any younger, and our up and comers down back are Glass and Gaspar. Glass has shown something and so has Gaspar but Gaspar already struggles a bt with injury. Trent Carroll is more consistently on the bad side of average than the good too. If I were to get anyone it would have to be a key defender. Dustin Flecther is the first name that springs to mind but a younger option would be Darren Gaspar. Unfortunately though he is signed sealed and delivered to Richmond for the last "peak performance" playing days so unless a trade occurs it'll never happen. Then again this is all hypothetical so you have my hypothetical choice.

A lot of people don't realise that a forward looks a hell of a lot better than he actually is if his team has an excellent midfield. I'm not knocking messrs Hird and Lloyd, but the only reason they looked like such great forwards, and the only thing whichsets them apart from pretty much every set of forwards in the league is the quality and quantity of ball they would get out of the midfield- essendon's real strength last year was their ability to move the ball precisely, and also *quickly* up the field. This meant that defenders were always caught out of position, and Lloyd would always have the ball delivered right to his chest. Personally, i reckon a really great forward is more likely to be someone like Farmer (or for that matter Fido!), since when they're on song, they seem to be a threat no matter how poor the ball delivery to them is.

Sure, but Lloyd can kick them from anywhere. Most other players in the league you would have real doubts about their accuracy.

Lloyd doesn't fit this category?

Generally, I'd rather grow our own players than give away huge amounts in trade bait and draft picks. It's very hard to buy success in that way (which I think is a good thing in many ways).

If it's just a dream, I'd want someone relatively young, injury-free, still hungry and able to consistently break games open, from whatever position. Maybe Lloyd?

I was in charge of the Eagles pursestings I would sell the family jewels for Hay. We are in deep big man trouble as far as I see things.

GO EAGLES!

Gardiner, Cox, Milli, Jako, Tuckey, Willow, Siera, Prior, Glass, Carroll, Haynes... Umm where was this big man trouble you spoke of?

Who would you want?

I know this is gonna sound strange, but I think I would have gone elsewhere and taken Michael Jordan at Centre Half Forward. Teach that boy how to kick straight, and with his hands, he would have marked everything under 5 metres high. Anyone who has seen him going up for one of his trademark slams could just imagine how imposing he would be flying for a mark at the top of the circle.

From another AFL Team? I know we hate him with a passion, but the best tagger in the league (and a brownlow medalist to boot) would be Liberatore. He would also inject a touch of real meanness into the Eagles lineup, which has been missing of late. Of course he is over the hill now.

Why we don't have Simon Black is beyond me, especially since we drafted Jaxon Crabb with Black available.

Brad Ottens, he is the under 21 player in the league, and plays at CHF were we despertely need someone to step up. He could also rotate very well with Michael Gardiner.

Chicken Nugget for me, and I also noted in the Sunday rag that the WCE have not given up on having him back in a blue and gold Jumper....

(Note: I did not say Ochre :p )
