Re: Wojak to front the VFL tribunal

agree max and it's good to hear a Melbourne supporter say what many in here have thought of the bump as well.

I just hope the panel do not suspend Wojak for a similar amount of time that it will take Jack to heal because unfortunately as we saw with Rohan, accidents happen.

You cant just keep rolling out the whole "accidents happen" stuff mate. How long have we known that if u decide not to tackle, bump instead and get the player high, you are in big trouble. Especially if u break a jaw. All of this "oh how ridiculous, he is unlucky, it was a fair bump, etc" stuff is a tad biased and silly in my opinion.

How would we feel if it was one of our youngsters? I bet there wouldnt be the "accidents happen" line then....and i know he isnt a Demons player yet but just using it as an example.

I cant see him getting a large suspension but who the hell would know. Also honestly don't think most Melbourne fans have an issue with it, big footy tends to exaggerate issues.

Re: Wojak to front the VFL tribunal

Have u heard of incidental contact, piss off back to ur own board pleb!
Come on mate, if 'incidental' contact is made, it does not constitute a perfectly executed bump.

Hawthorn supporters are truly an amazing beast :p

Anything to do with the Cats...they are onto it with their own interpretation of events.

Merely popped onto your board to see the vision as it is the only real news to come from the VFL this week.

Re: Wojak to front the VFL tribunal

Yeah gotta agree there hbk - everyone knows there is a very small margin for error in pulling off a decent bump that wont get you weeks now days.

You bump at your own peril, the AFL has taken the hardness out of the game - its just unfortunate the young fella copped a broken jaw otherwise it probably wouldnt have been looked at.

Such is the nature of the beast nowdays unfortunately.

Just saw the footage and the punch was stupid. I can't believe he would do that after Scarlo's incident. Undisciplined and don't like it at all. I gotta say I've never seen wojak that worked up. Viney must have gotten under his skin.

With the bump I saw it pretty fast but he obviously got him high so that would be worth a couple of weeks.

All in all he's an idiot. We could use his pace back in the side.

Re: Wojak to front the VFL tribunal

Geelong supporters, there is nothing wrong with opposition supporters coming onto our board and having a difference of opinion (and even the same opinion as some of us) if they are reasonable and logical and do not try to stir us up.

There is no need to be hostile towards these types. Unlike some other boards, I think we can be a bit better than that.

Who are the people that set up our defence.

He has said his intention was to tackle but Viney changed direction.
What a complete load of crap.

Even Scott said it happened in a split second.

Also said he thought he got him flush shoulder to shoulder so they're now calling the doctor to find out what side of the jaw is broken. WTF?

Is this amateur hour?

Decision coming soon

During cross examination tribunal advocate concedes Wojcinski had no intention to hurt Viney.Three man panel now considering verdict.

Wojo is found guilty. :(

Chairman: "He was not contesting the ball, and could have reasonably foreseen the consequence of his actions."

Now entering penalty phase.

How could he have reasonably foreseen a hip and shoulder would result in a broken jaw?

How could he have reasonably foreseen a hip and shoulder would result in a broken jaw?

Haven't actually seen the hit so I'll reserve my comments.

Was it similar to the one Hams dished up on Sunday?

It was the punch that I thought was petulant by Wojo.

People saying he's finished on our board are a joke, he'd be in our top 10

As nonsensical as it seems, the AFL has effectively decreed that when you choose to bump you can "reasonably foresee" any kind of injury that might result and you wear the consequences of that.

Quite ridiculous when you consider that it was accepted in the case that he meant no harm to Viney. That should be what matters.

Matt Thompson ‏ @MattThompsonAFL Penalty 2 matches served concurrently with one match striking ban. In reality misses four weeks total. Can play weekend 8-9 June.

just in

@SJ,
Yeah that seemed a bit strange. From memory when Baker was suspended for his 9(12) weeks from the Stevie J incidents they were each to be served in addition to, not concurrently.

Concurrently = at the same time.

So he will miss two weeks according to the use of the word.

Am I stupid? Or does 2+1=4 somehow?

We have the bye in the VFL this weekend

Wojcinski cops 2-match ban to be served concurrently with 1-match ban for punch. Out for a month - 2 week suspension + 2 byes
