All I can say, that a tee off time at 7.20am is brutal and probably nearly all of us are sleeping in
All I can say is that if any of us had been at the course since 5:15 (like he had), we would have had the skills to get to the tee on time. I’d give him a pass if it was something like an emergency call of nature, but no, Higgo combined a lackadaisical attitude with no awareness of time.

Good story though

Higgo would have loved the Melbourne train system back in the day when stations were manned and gates closed access to the platform just prior to arrival of a train. "I was on time but I was late"

Be interesting if a softening of the rule occurs going forward.

It’s already a soft penalty. Every decent amateur player has it beaten into them about getting to the tee in plenty of time. It’s the simplest and most obvious rule of competitive golf.

I’d be happy for it to be a DQ.

Rory before the tournament said that there was no strategy off the tee. More or less said he could just bomb and gouge his way around.

His driver was all over the shop at Augusta but it has huge wide fairways and nonexistent rough to bail you out (not saying it's an easy course, esp on approach and putting) Not gonna cut it here when fairways are ~10 m narrower.

Bryson couldn't even make the cut there so no surprise he did even worse than Rory. You hate to see it

It's a slog of a tournament so far. -3 seems to be the best anyone can hold for more than a hole. Scottie only 1 shot off the lead against underdog types has to be the clear favourite. Min Woo has a chance to take a lead into the weekend though.

Potgieter's an interesting case because he moved to Perth and did his schooling here before moving back to Sarth Efrica.

Doubt there's ever been two, well one and one honorary WA players 1 shot off the lead in a major
