Robert Shaw by a big margin

yep robert shaw. neil craig has made the finals every year as a coach except last year (and probably this year)

His recruiting enabled Blight to achieve. Show some respect please.

The way Robert and his family (in particular his children) were treated in the latter half of the '96 season will probably go down in history as the Crow's most embarrasing moment when it comes to their fan's behaviour.

Having watched most of his home games in '95 & '96, I feel qualified to comment. I thought Robert kept chopping and changing things instead of sticking with one system and working on making that successful. Frustration set in, Modra wasn't happy and suddenly you had a media and public that were livid and out for a scapegoat after '93.

Also I remember Victorian TV media continually recommending him as a good replacement for Cornes during the '94 season, and this may have also assisted with the anti-vic mentality which was running high at the time.

After last weekend possibly Mark Harvey.

Early last quarter. Freo 4 goals up. Sub off one of their best performers and bring on Palmer and stick him in the forward line. Keep Pav in the middle. Put Keplar in the ruck.

That will ice the game surely.........

Based on this season's performances this bloke is certainly laying his claim. He's not there yet but is on the right (wrong) track:

The worst I can recall at Hawthorn was this bloke, who was only saved by comparisons to Ken Judge favoring him.
Still, it's not often you worry about your coach being able to survive 4 quarters due to a heart defect.

Quite frankly you wouldn't have the faintest idea what Walls did or didn't do at Fitzroy. Don't make out like you have a clue about anything to do with Fitzroy. You've shown time after time that you don't.

And "gay marriage"? You've got no idea about any of that either. On so many levels.

Time for you to slink back up to the main board with your serious guff, go cry in your beer about the poor unfortunate Robert Walls in their exact same thread

....and to answer your question about what folding has to do with bad coaching, I'm pretty sure just having a **** like him around a club is enough to make it the most undesirable place to be or business to be involved with, people were lining up at the gates to get away from him.

there is no secret to why he was sacked from every coaching job he had, he was a cancer and everything he touched turned to shit, unfortunatly Fitzroy and the Bears let him hang around long enough that they ran out of puff.

Pity, I kind of liked Fitzroy, even had a mate who played for them, he said Walls was a dead set **** too

I'll take his educated annalysis of Walls over your story of watching walls coach any day pal

****, if Walls showed up at the Managatang thirds for a pie night the club would probably fold such is his auora of shitness

A grade club killer is Robert

You're 'pretty sure' are you? Got the crowd figures in support of that little statement?

Yeah, with the Club playing finals in senior, reserves and U/19s grades when Walls was coach, the place was just so 'undesirable'.

1981-1986 was one of the best times ever to be supporting the Roys. The spirit around the club at that time was just fantastic. You'd remember that well wouldn't you?

As I said, finals in 81, 82 and 84 and Walls set the Club up for one of our most successful eras.

Pity, I kind of liked Fitzroy, even had a mate who played for them, he said Walls was a dead set **** too

I had a few mates that played with the Roys too. Been involved with the Club in various capacities over the years. And you say had 'a mate' that played with the Roys? Wow. I'm so underwhelmed.

 Yeah I'm sure you would. I'll bet that's all you're basing your so-called opinion on too. You had 'a mate' that played with the Roys. So that makes you an expert on Walls at Fitzroy does it?

not enough Tim Watson in this thread....Bloody dreadful coach

Don't worry about it Roy, it's not worth teaching people who won't listen to you, just laugh at their ignorance and move on. :):thumbsu:

People who have coached flags are exempt. Unless Alan Joyce's name is mentioned.

I'm with western royboy. The worst coach I ever saw was Bernie Quinlan. Far worse than any of the other candidates mentioned here in my view.
Bernie made two mistakes. He kept on another coach's assistants who ended up knifing him in the back and he chose his timing wrong. But Bernie has had difficult internal family matters since he retired and it is pretty ordinary to read smartarses (not you personally) putting him down.

sorry to say, but yes he is up there. but he does run 2nd to..............

GRANT THOMAS.

the biggest coaching spud theres ever been. had a great list, a tremendous list, a list that could beat anyone & everyone, but screwed them with his 'i know better than everyone else' attitude, his deplorable coaching when up against better tacticians like roos & williams & worsfold.
he had 3 years (04 to 06) that were his for the taking before geelong took over, and mucked it up.

/now end thread.

.....Tim Watson

yeah i remember their injury issues, but geez i think he was responsible for those too, with his IM IN CONTROL attitude.

Malcolm Blight's bright idea of putting the likes of a 33 year old 110kg Stewie Loewe through the same running and fitness program as an Aussie Jones was catastophic.

Tim Watson btw

Clarkson. Horrible coach. Dawks fans keep telling us that Buddy is the greatest ever player. Hodge and Mitchell are two of the best midfielders ever. Cyril is probably the most talented player ever yet that flog has only taken possibly the greatest squad ever to just 1 flag?

Pathetic.
