Probably Shaun McManus for me. Sure he could get his hands on the ball (he was elite in that regard), and sure there have always been players with poor foot skills, but he just had a knack of triggering huge momentum swings in favour of the other team with his miss-kick-turnovers that usually resulted in the Dockers losing. I've never seen anything like it to this day.

Tough upbringing. Imagine being related to Rove

Jack Anthony kicked 75 goals in his first two seasons and is universally considered one of the worst players to have ever played

He's probably considered one of the worst players that an average fan can name.

Here on bigfooty most fans know the real jokes that sunk away to obscurity after 20-30 frustrating games.

But Anthony, Collingwood FF who kicked 50 when he was young and kicked the winning goal v Adelaide in a final from memory, then struggled? He's clearly not the worst but fans can name him would be my guess why he's talked like that.

Henry slattery at essendon.
Matthew knights famously said of him in front of the team "If I could give Henry slattery a ten year contract I would".
