This is a very slow day and the heading just about says it all.

With players like Murray Goodwin having played for Zimbabwe, and a small avalanche of Australian marginals like Andre Adams, Rodney Redpath and Mathew Sinclair moving to New Zealand, would you ever consider moving to another country if it meant the chance to play test cricket.

The Pura Cup is a great domestic competition, but doesn't test cricket have that something special.

Obviously your own nationality would come first, but if you realistically were a first class player unlikely to represent Australia would you leave for greener pastures?

Geez..that's a tough question.
I hate England when we play them in the cricket and rugby etc. And im sure its vica-versa for the english fans.

For England to call me up and ask me, would be very tough if I were a state player. I would feel like a sell-out to my country as I have lived here my whole life and fairly patriotic.
Geez..i'll have to get back to you. Leaning towards no, but very tough decision.

On a similar sort of issue...Seeing Rod Marsh in a English blazer a few weeks ago made me sick., sell-out.

There may be a good reason for him leaving the Academy now, Nick. Kerry O'keefe said tonight on C7's cricket show, that the funding will be pulled from the Cricket Academy in Adelaide and this years intake will be the last. Apparently all the states have their own versions of it up and running and think they can bring there own players through to play first class cricket, although there will be some sort of elite tuition in Brisbane. Will have to wait and see if he is right, though he would have sort of inside info, seeing he has worked with the spin bowling part of the C.A.
