I don't rate being captain in AFL that highly, so obviously playing in four. Outside of tossing the coin, there's not much point to captains in AFL, unlike, say, cricket.

The captain is often the best player or someone who leads from the front. They would be respected without the arbitrary title of captain. As I mentioned before, what role, specific to the captain, do they do in field other than toss the coin.
