When you hit your targets you look quick and skilled.
Showed enough.

Must admit i get the shits
when i start to read clipboard summaries

Do any of you experts here play football??,
given the average age on this (I gather is around 18)
which would give most here enough opportunity,
to get off their arses, and show something.

Bagging the guys who get dirty,
annoys me, 'cos i did it, and cleanskins with stats,
are a pain in the arse.

In English?

Waite is the one who needs to go forward. We had no target at CHF tonight, it threw our entire system out (if we ever had one).

Yeah i agree with you i would love him to play CHF but...............our backline is stuffed and playing someone like the Saints next week we need him down back.

You'll finish with three wins and have picks one and two in the draft.
So we will only win 2 more games? Reality check....

Anyway this is about Carlton/Richmond and the wrap up of the game. It was a scrappy first 3/4 but cleaner higher quality in the last. All in all a half decent game. When do we play you next?

In English?

I tell you this,
we know we have been done,
it' obvious, (why they keep the score),
all the players are dirty,
NOONE needs to be told by a cleanskin right now,
about inside 50's, clearances, and god knows what else.

Let 'em suck it in,
and see if they learn from it.

Make it hurt. (and they have to pay for the last half)
Make them think

So what would you like to talk about? The runthrough?

Apart from the obvious deficienes up forward, our midfield pressure and ability to get numbers to the ball really dropped away in the 2nd half, probably due to a lack of fitness. The Tiges players were running basically uncontested through the middle of the ground and across half back, and as soon as they were under pressure, would give the ball off to one of a few guys who also were free and unattended. When the game slowed down, we were better able to man up the Tiges, although by then it was game over and the Tigers were just running down the clock. And even at that stage, our midfielders didn't do enough to push back and help the defenders, giving the Richmond forwards the time and space to kick easy goals once the ball hit the deck.

I don't really like using these types of excuses for a lose (especially playing Richmond) but we were fairly underdone tonight. Four starting 22 players out and a fair few underdone including our captain. Saying this, there were a few good signs, especially in the first half. There was a good 10-15 minutes in the second quarter when i got over excited. I know we were favourites but we really shouldn't have been considering our situation heading into the game. We will really get critisied for the loss from many different angles, hopefully this will unite our team much more and play for each. This part really seemed lacking especially in the last quarter. It is only the first round, shit happens!!

Frankly I find myself angry and flabbergasted that our overpaid bunch of primmadonnas aren't fit. FFS. What have they been doing for the past 6 months?

Hell, I am as let down, as obviouly you are,
there was that a bit late in the second,
(Judd, Stevens, inside 50.......bang!)
as clean as a Ford Factory,
and that is what disappoints me with the final half letdown.

We will be better for the run.

Who is our fitness coach?

I believe that would be Justin Cordy, who was highly talked up during the off-season as being one of the best in the business. In fairness to him, a few of our guys are coming back from serious injury - namely Cloke and Setanta the talls, but more importantly Judd, Stevens and Hadley which would have rotated our midfeild rotations. Still, it is disappointing and infuriating to see our players unable to man up and put pressure during the late 3rd and the 4th quarter when the game was there to be won.

If this is the passage that ended in an Eddie Betts goal, my brother-in-law turned to me to suggest it was the best piece of play we had executed in 6 years!

Depends on team structure. If you really lack the talls, especially in the ruck... you'll find their presence alone is handy. Allows for more rotation, and also allows non-rucks to play in their preferred positions, possibly impacting on the game.

We lack quality midfielders. Hence Cotchin. Kind of evens out really.

No it doesn't. It's a lot easier to cover a midfielder, given 8-12 guys are rotated through there, than a ruckman, where at most 3 guys are relied on.

They saved Johnson for a quarter on Judd.
Kept Jackson (????) who did very well.

In the end Judd/Stevens fitness/accountability told against them.
Thought Gibbs should have come to the front,
but didn't.
Not blaming him soley.

I think that the loss can almost be put down to a handful of plays. Too many **** ups with the delivery into the forward line which ended up in Richmond goals and silly turnovers when we should have comfortably cleared it from defence but ****ed up. I felt like breaking someones face after that game, I haven't been this infuriated in a long long time!

Just one thing i'll add is that I don't think Edwards can be criticised for those misses, he generally shot from very acute angles, would have taken little Betts to do it.
