Seems after last night we are already getting written off by many.......i say.....bring it on......we were never gonna win last night.......our worst loss for the year.

Write us off now coz we won 2 premierships off the same thing. I'd rather the media pump up Collingwood and let us do our thing in the dark.....coz gee it's funny.

Now on to the Roos....if we can't beat the Roos this week, then I will write us off.

lets hope we get our team ack on the park this week.

What do you expect?

The moment a team starts playing well, and then have a bad night and lose they're written off for the year. It happened to Brisbane when they were having some trouble in the middle season.

a number of you lot did exactly that to the Pies after one loss last week. whoops!

As I said prior to the West Coast game, the Pies game IMo would be our last loss of the year. There were so many obvious factors why we were going to drop last night's game. Keep the faith!

I don't write you off. Your team is full of superstars. I think the premiership will go to one of the Adelaide teams this year.

Port are probably the best team this year but I think Adelaide will stand up better in the finals.

It really just depends a bit of luck and how the finals draw pans out.

Last year the finals draw worked in our favour. If Port hadn't finished on top after beating Brisbane in round 22, we would have gone to the Gabba and most likely lost first round, maybe we would have gone out in straight sets who knows. We took Port by surprise, then we played you guys who had travelled a couple of weeks in a row.

This year the top 4 is made up of the same teams, but I doubt it will work in our favour again.

I very much doubt that Brisbane can win 3 in a row, and that leaves Adelaide and Port.

From memory you guys play pretty well on the "G" so I give you a very good chance.

Having said all that, I hope you don't win another game for the rest of the year ;)

All I can say to this is, COME ON BRISBANE!

I think it'll be a Port/Brisbane GF, and Brisbane will kick Port's backside.

Whoever writes Adelaide off must be stupid.
It was only 1 loss i'm sure you guys will be back ... It happened to us a few weeks ago and look now.

Keep the faith.

It was part of a cunning plan :D Let the media pump up Collingwood & Port - how much funnier it will be when they crash and burn

In all seriousness - I don't want to be "the premiership favourite" a lot of pressure comes with that - just ask Port. We just need to put our heads down & bum up and work hard. I would rather be the "smokey" anyday!

Agree, Agree, & Agree

Was always gonna struggle against Collingwood & in hindsight would have been better resting Carey,

I HAVE THE FAITH !!!!!

Don't think it'll happen.
We'll struggle to make the 2 now let alone 4.
I think you are selling your team way short.

I reckon Brisbane will make the top 4 as they have 2 relatively easy games to finish off minor round. It would be great if Brisbane were to play Port in the 1st week of the finals.;)

LionHeart20 is right though. Brisbane are depending on other results...

With Brisbane now 6th they do need two of Adelaide, Collingwood, Sydney and Fremantle to drop a match to sneak back into the top four.

Obviously one of those losses is guaranteed with Sydney playing Collingwood this week, but the Lions still need to hope for another.

I said it in the other thread and I'll say it again, we are in absolutely the perfect position to make a charge at the flag.

-Up to 5 players back this week, no one scheduled to be longer than 1 week out. Crowell only long-term injury ATM (though this can change obviously)
-Just had a reality checking flogging in front of a big crowd and television audience. Perfect time for it to occur.
-Shocking record recently against serious contenders Port, Brisbane, Collingwood. These things have to turn around eventually and the boys will be VERY keen to do so.
-Destiny is in our hands and we play our last 2 games at home, nice lead into the finals (instead of our WA trips last 2 years).
-Numerous key players have been eased through recent games or missed stretches of matches> McLeod, Burton, Goodwin, Carey, Stevens, Welsh, etc> Will get some form in these last 2 games and be fresh for the finals.

Barring catastrophic injuries and with a smidgin of luck, there is every chance we'll be going deep into September, and there'll be no excuses if we don't.

Its not guaranteed. What if its a draw??????:p
I know you're joking, but I'll answer the question seriously anyway.

If Sydney & Collingwood draw and Brisbane win the Lions would overtake the Swans on percentage. And if they gave the Cats a murderous hiding they might even overtake the Pies on percentage as well.

Love a good "smidgin"... it's one of those words that deserves a Brownlow but always loses out to "pinch" or "ounce" :)

It certainly does not get enough of a run, and if it did, I think it has the capabilities to be a regular performer ;)
