Kangaroo's are into Hallahan!

For what it is worth Hallahan seemed keen to stay in his interview after winning the Liston. Wants a strong pre season to put his name in front of Clarko.

That's not to say North wont try to persuade him by telling him he is more likely to get a game with them. Better chance with us if you ask me, the guys he is competing with are all older at the Hawks than they are at the Roos. Saying that we still have plenty of talent vying for a senior birth with Simpkin, Langford, Duryea, Anderson and Suckling all wanting to come into the Hawks side for a regular gig.

I hope he stays, seems a very good in and under mid.

Basically if Hawthorn still want to keep him (probably shouldn't at this stage, not worth the risk of another season of him offering nothing) he owes it to the club to stay for peanuts.

Same goes for Max Bailey. Stay and repay the faith shown in you for so many years when they could just have easily thrown you on the scrap heap, never to play again. The media always talk about players leaving like Ablett did and say "why should the players show loyalty, when the clubs don't" Well to Max, X and young we were extremely loyal.

Hawthorn is loyal to it's players and give them every opportunity to succeed, Changa and Ossie were kept on even though they were past it, Croad was on the list for 2 years with a career ending injury and didn't play a game. That is why young leaving hurt so much.

Joel Smith, Matthew Suckling, Cameron Bruce are examples also. Those that have the right mental state (ie attitude) will be rewarded at Hawthorn. Those that don't, (Thompson, Hay, Tuck) will be willingly passed on

A lot of players who left, left basically on their own accord. Lately you can look at McGlynn, Young, Kennedy and maybe even Renouf. Much better contracts (apart from Young) were offered, Hawthorn made trading them easy for respective clubs. Move on those that would prefer to be elsewhere.

Loyalty is somewhat a two-way street unlike what many may think, but this is far from a rule. But loyalty only extends so far. The term loyalty is regularly misconstrued. Every club, every individual has a price. So do you (yes, you!), but past experience will dictate your response to each situation.

The main exclusion to this rule is Trent Croad, who seemed to leave controversially. But, did he leave for screwin Dermies wife or some crap like that. Someone please correct this story as I am not claiming this to be the case, but think I remember hearing it in a drug and alcohol fueled haze:rolleyes:. Lethal smashed Bruns for porking Tuckys misses also yeah?? OK, back on track......

Just so I'm very clear you just called out a guy with depression for wanting to try something different to give him a chance of escaping depression and then posted some bogus third hand slur against Trent Croad in the same post?

Very classy ........ Bet they'd be pleased to have you down to the family club to give motivational speaches.

Whatever mate. Have a think about it buddy. You are clearly not very clear. Firstly, Speaches is speeches (HAHA, childish, I know!!). I get motivated by correct grammar.

Hay, I believe also had depression in some way or another. It is not a slur, just examples of loyalty, and a willingness to pass on those that don't want to be there. Depression is not something you should call out on someone, as you would be clear on I reckon.

Ah, and with the slur, I was looking for some clarification because Croad is an exception compared to the other players mentioned. Something tells me it was more than just chasing the number 1 draft pick. Have a read again. I didn't claim to be factual.......love Croady.

And somehow, I don't think the chance to give the club a speech has ever been a possibility, and not really a desire of mine, so that really means nothing.

Anyway, no harm done, but I ain't gonna cop your allegations silently. Let's move forwards......to a premiership!!

Didn't Sierakowski move ot North to get game time at AFL level having sat at BH for us for three years?

In two years at Norf he's played 7 games.

I'd suggest at this stage if he's any good, he'll get to 50 games quicker with us than them.

Our relationship and trading history with Norf has been very interesting.

Norf seem to think any player that gets a kick at City Oval must be good enough to be on an AFL list.

Hay (we got Birchall and Bailey), Thompson ( we got Lewis)

The we got Gibson (Aaron Black) Hale (we gave up Brown they got Harper).

Great deals for us. I think Black and Harper will be players but we have done so well from North trades it makes me quite happy

Oh, not another shaving incident!?

I'm sorry, that was cruel. I can't remember another player having as retched a run with injury and niggle - virtually his entire career. If the latest report is true, it is sad.

He's basically had two seasons in tact after being drafted in 2005.

Sorry - I know this thread is re X but I have a feeling that Shane Savage might be in the trading mix this year. He's looking unlikely to crack it back into the side for the remainder of the finals and that might be enough to get him thinking about opportunities elsewhere.

Especially if Suckling can come back and play wing effectively, it might limit his opportunities going forward.

I think I would prefer Sav on the wing. His pace is needed to break the lines through the middle. I'd prefer it if Suckling got a little bit more toughness and competitiveness and took the hodge position to release hodge to the middle.

that'd be a shame. I thought he was starting to show something...

And he is the best contested / overhead mark in the side. A shame, but true.
