You need some pretty high marks to get a TER of 89-90. I was hoping for above 80 at the start of the year, but things arent looking too good at the moment, so I'll be happy with a score over 70.

I havent had many exams yet, just SAC's, but the ones we've had do count for a lot.

What are my scores so far? Was sitting on an A for the SAC's in accounting, but failing the exam ****ed everything up. Legal is going alright, 84/100 for the accumulated SAC's which is around an A. Hard to say with Maths methods. 4/10 for one SAC then an A for the other  . Default B's for English including the Oral, hopefully the mid-year SAC went alright.

I think the way they work it is pretty stupid. Someone can get straight A's in a subject and end up with a study score of 36/50. So, what does it take to get a 50?

Doin' alright.

Had one midyear for Psych (33% of the years mark - oh joy!), and probably got B or C. Got mainly A's for all my SAC's for every subject, with a few B's and the odd C. All things considered, I'm above where I wanted to be.

Good luck to the year 12's. I feel that the next 15 weeks is going to be hell. Don't stress too much, and we'll be fine. :)

Keep pushing yourself mate. I didn't think I would reach the 95 required for my uni course and in the end got 95.8. Just keep working hard and plodding along and you'll be right.

You guys are all doing fantastic!
Im on;

Chem D (first ever!!)
Human Biol C (bout 3 off a B)
Econ C(whole class is!)
English C
Discrete Maths B (soooo close to an A)

Phys Ed- Porbably on a B, such an easy subject, gotta love it!

I have a few questions to ask all of you pre year twelvers.

Should I give Chem away if I dont feel as if im gonna improve and dont really understand the new stuff we are doing (Equlibrium yuk!). Also, is Canning College an allright place to go next year to repeat chem? Im considerind doing a night, part time course and work during the day!

Do you need relatively high scores for Sports Science and where is the best Uni for the lowest score in the TER....if that makes any sense!

Im so confused at the moment and really unmotivated with all things to do with school, its really scary, i just dont care anymore!!

im doing yr 11 VCE this year and im happy with my report card.

English A & A
History A & B+
Chinese A
Infotech A
Business B+
Maths D

Just goto fix up maths and keep up the good work. Still got 1 more year to improve, so my future is bright!

Anita, I'm probably the wrong person. I gave up Chem half way through last year. ;) I don't see the point in giving up a subject in year 12 though, because it is not like last year where you can pick up another one. You drop it, and it just takes away from your score and the amount of units you do.

Stick at it basically, and try your best. :)

Good advice this. Is there anyone on these boards who thinks The Hitman won't have a damned good chance of achieving what he wants?

Attitude and realism, the only pre-requisites.

Have been wondering how your studies have been going, Hitters. You've been very disciplined, so far.

Had two mid-year exams, Biology and Chem.

Going Okay with the SAC marks...

Biology: A A+ A+ A
English: A B+ A+ B
Chemistry: A+ A A+ A
Methods: B A A
Outdoor Ed: A+ A

My advice to year 12 students.....

Don't think it's the end of the world if you're struggling.....it is overrated, although you would think differently right now. Leading from that, good performances at the end of year exams help. A lot.

Rightio then...;)

First of all, what do you plan to do next year? Get that sorted. If you're going to uni, right now would be a good time to choose what you want to do. Look at the prerequisites required of the courses you want to do. Remember, it aint the end of the world if you choose the wrong course in your first semester, you can always drop it and choose another course.

On the Chemistry, I would keep doing it. I was crap at Chem last year but I HAD to do it cause it was a prerequisite for Engineering. I don't know about your school but generally Chem gets scaled up. Another thing is that you're only doing 5 subjects so if you drop chem you automatically rely on your other 4 which can be a bit dodgy. Remember that your school mark is only worth 50%. Say you finish with 50% for chem in school and get 60% in the TEE, you could end up with a mark of 60% in the end, if not a tad higher if you work your ass off. Even if Chem isn't a prerequisite for a subject you're doing at uni, keep doing it. You might actually use it in your top 4 if you do well at it and if you want to change courses, Chem might be a prerequisite for another course.

Of the Unis:

UWA: tends to have high TER's
Curtin: Bit less than UWA in some areas
Murdoch: Same as Curtin
ECU: No idea
Notre Dame: Who cares, it aint called the "daddy bought me a law degree" for nothing. Buy your way in.

Lastly on motivation. Remember, after your exams you have at least 4 months break if you don't take the year off and a hell of a lot more if you take the year off as well. You may be buggered and unmotivated at the moment but just force yourself to study and put music on in the background. Music keeps your mind off from asking yourself why you're doing this.

Oh, and one last thing. The TEE isn't the be all and end all. If you **** up, life will go on. It is however a good leaping block into a Uni course that you want to do which may get you into places not going into uni would have. Work hard approaching the TEE and you'll be alright.

:)

Still in Year 11, but doing Year 12 History (Revolutions).

Results thus far....A on the short answer test, A on the graphic analyis and A+ on the essay. Both A's were about one mark off an A+

Majorly stressing about the exam at the end of the year....:( I hate to imagine what I'll be like next year!

Exactly. Last year I set my mind on getting an ENTER of 90, from the very first day. As tough and hard as I found year twelve, I always kept my mind on this, and achieved 91.20. If you set your mind to it, you can accomplish anything.
