Your Biggest Rivals

Hi Cats fans, I am answering some questions on an English Soccer forum about the Grand Final, and someone asked who your biggest rivals were.

I know we have had a pretty good onfield rivalry over the past few years, but I'm not 100% on who your rivals are historically. Hawthorn I guessed. Can someone help me out here?

Yeah but that's only because they're the oldest club, and we're the second oldest. Not a great reason for a rivalry there.

Hawthorn/ West Coast.
Richmond used to be up there but they've become our whipping boys and thus the rivalry has died a bit.
The Hawks make my skin crawl.

Hawks have to be up there main reason the grief they have caused the cats over the last two decades for sure (89 G.F., Numerous finals, etc)

In recent years St Kilda and the Bulldogs

St Kilda had pretensions to it but I think they will resume whipping boy status again shortly

I reckon we've had a bit of a rivalry with Footscray, too - plenty of close games over the years as well as the western districts geographical closeness.
