Hey Adelaide supporters

This is something I've read- Just a few facts I compiled...

-Welsh is sure to play
-Riccuito out
-Rutten out
-Scott Gumbleton in for Bombers (No. 2 draft pick)
-Sheeds 5th last match... Unless we make finals
-Jason Winderlich back in- Good pace for us
-Big Kepler Bradley back in the team- More talls

Wow, it's looking pretty one-sided.
Thoughts?
Well good luck on Sunday, hope some of you can come over.

Weshes are sure to play. We have one too!

Roo & Rutten didn't play last week along with a host of other injured players, so they aren't "outs"

We have Gill in. Watch him kick more goals this week than Gumbleton.

Our coach will be coaching us again next season.

Put Winderlich on Macca & he will discover what pace is about.

Bradley was a wasted high draft pick.

Whist we haven't beaten the Dons in Melbourne, we haven't lost there either for the last 5 years against them either.

Best of luck. Our midfield & your attack IMO will determine the outcome.

Yep both Welsh's will play.

Roo and Rutten are probably your 2 most important players so they are hugess losses.

Just looking at Gill's stats they don't seem all that impressive. Does he play Full forward or CHF?? because hasn't been kicking many goals. Gill is 24 so you'd expect him to outperform a 19 yr old.

Winderlich shouldn't be underrated, he provides something that we lack. Pace. Good user of the footy who can carry very well and pin point passes to our forwards.

Bradley has been disapointing but theres still time for him yet. He won't play Sunday.

Should be a very interesting game with whoever loses season just about over. I expect Lloyd and Lucas to be the difference in the end.

Gill played as a roaming forward before this year, not really as a set CHF.. more like a bloke who did what he wanted. He has been more of a utility this season, not spending as much time up forward and sometimes he's even started centre bounces on a wing.

Cheers, i'll watch out for him on Sunday :thumbsu:

Very much looking forward to the debut of Gill, has been talked about on here quite a bit so hopefully he can have a solid game.

Should be a very good game this one, while we have some big outs I think we still have a strong enough team to end your finals chances. Obviously the Sheedy thing will fire the Bombers up but I hope with Adelaide's season truly on the line we are able to win the game.

Are many coming over to Melbourne for the game?

Hey Kane, I hope you're not pinning all your hopes on Gill. Remember, he is a 24 year old recycled player playing in the SANFL after previously delisted by 2 AFL clubs.

It would be unfair on him to expect him to dominate a key position against a couple of seasoned defenders in Michael and Fletcher.

didn't russell robertson have have the same sort of start to his career

also what about one of your premiership players ?? almost identical scenarios

Don't know about Robertson but you are spot on if you are referring to Josh Mahoney. However, you miss the point Capitalist - Mahoney is a small forward and the club did not have huge expectations of him, certainly not to win the first match he played in off his own boot. In Gill's case, my good mate Kane, expects Gill to dominate the match against a couple of very experienced and proven defenders and I think he is just expecting abit too much.

I think Kane was being a touch sarcastic

however Gill is meant to be a KPP but my point is that being 24 isn't always going to stop a player being sucessful...

Capitalist, I had a few beers at lunch time with Kane and believe me he is deadly serious. He even expects to win on Sunday.

I'm deadly serious about us winning - as you know we have a bet on!

Never mentioned Gill at all in our lunch conversation though & my response above to the Dons supporter talking about Gumbleton.

One is a first round pick and the other is a recycled last round pick

Terrible logic. Anyway, Gill was a 4th rounder.

I'm a Gumbleton fan, but just because he's a first round pick, doesn't mean anything.

Nick Gill will more than likely outperform him due to plenty of senior SANFL experience

- how much did he drink

Not enough, I have had to come back to work to sort our this damn budget.

Surely footy is more important!!!

I'm not pinning my hopes soley on Gill (I never mentioned Gill to you.)

I repeat what I told you earlier - we will dominate the midfield, which I expect will win us the game.

good call about Fletcher.

he will probably play on Gill. Gill being a debutant, sounds just like the sort of matchup fletcher relishes and all :)

Doesn't Fletcher need a compass to find his way back when he gets more than 30 metres out from the opposition goal ?

My guess is that Gill will get the third tall... maybe Ryder.

Well expecting Gumbleton to be the match winner is expecting far too much of a young first-game CHF!!! We're just returning the favour.

Will be interesting to see how Gill goes though. He's an unknown and I'll bet they match a big body up on him having no idea about his pace or aerial ability. It's not fair or realistic to expect him to win the game for us but I believe he can improve our structure and give us something to kick to.

Never said he was going to be a matchwinner- And yet, you guys seem a whole lot more excited about Gill... Who is 24, delisted, and has been in the 2's. Pretty one sided IMO.

Do you remember that 70m Torpedo Goal against St. Kilda?
