I doubt Rankine will be getting 1.4 mill a year. Thilthorpe could.Rankine and Thilthorpe have contracts that expire in 2027 and 2028. I doubt Bailey will be Adelaide's highest paid player after those contract negotiations are done (and rightly so).

Ah Chee never said he wanted to stay, unlike Bailey.
What's your point? That article is 2024 and not last year when he requested a trade, he never said he wanted to stay at anytime last year, unlike Bailey has.![]()

Unfortunately for WA, Callum Ah Chee is determined to stay in Brisbane for the long haul.
“I had a chance to play for the Eagles once, but nah – I’ve got a wife and two kids and Brisbane is home now,” he said.
So, what’s up next for this homegrown talent?
“For my whole life my dream was to play in an AFL Grand Final – and I’ve done that twice now,” he said.
“My next big goal is to make 100 games, which I’m pretty close to now. That way my son can be drafted into the club too.
“But yeah, that’s it – I’m pretty happy, to be honest.”
You said "never", I just showed you where he did. What's your point? That article is 2024 and not last year when he requested a trade, he never said he wanted to stay at anytime last year, unlike Bailey has.

Why would I care what he said 2 years ago when he was still contracted at Brisbane for the following year and wasn't looking to move? You said "never", I just showed you where he did.
I see you've thrown "last year" in the next update to move the goal posts as usual. That's ok.
It was after 2024 premiership and he stated that in the off-season. So between 2024 off-season and 2025 end his plans changed pretty quickly. Why would I care what he said 2 years ago when he was still contracted at Brisbane for the following year and wasn't looking to move?
I'm talking about the year there was speculation he was going to leave because he hasn't re-signed, he never said he wanted to stay, unlike Bailey. You can hang on to the 2 years ago narrative, but Ah Chee did say he wanted to stay just like Bailey

I was clearly talking about his last contract year when I posted that since it was a respond to Bailey's situation now. Not my fault you didn't understand. The point is about staying, even though you're deliberately obtuse about it. You started with "Ah Chee never said it", I go here it is. Rather than conceding at that point, you've started going in circles as usual like "ahh but not on the exact year !!" and now you've transitioned over to "its WA and not SA !!".
Fact is, Ah Chee said Brisbane is home now, looking forward to playing 100 games so he can get his son drafted and stay for the long haul. From a staying position he chose to leave in the end so it's quite easy for Bailey to do the same.
Players saying I'd "like to stay" doesn't mean anything definitive or set in stone in the scheme of decision making. If he's that desperate to stay, there is an offer in front of him and he'll sign now. He hasn't.

Crows do have form in just saying, no we aren’t paying that. They did it with Hateley and Ah Chee (kind of with Dawson). To force a trade? Yeah, there is a real possibility of that. There is history of clubs both matching or threatening to match to force a trade.
Bailey won't stay if he has other reasons for leaving Brisbane, even if Brisbane match.
You guys genuinely thinking Brisbane will just sit on its hands and lose a 26 year old (likely) 2x AA player for pick 20 and not try and force a trade is just bizarre. Particularly with there being repeated history of clubs either matching or threatening to match, in order to force a trade due to the FA compo not being good enough.
That respond was to your post talking about matching the contract. Again, Ah Chee never said he wanted to stay, unlike Bailey. So Baily will stay if the contract is matched.Ah yes, I clearly see that "last contract year" in your post below. Of course.
