As if 38 and 42 is going to cut it, that's marginally better than pick 88 for Mitchell. Very good player or get a pick between 15-23 or bigger off.

1st rounder from 2 years ago. Can debate the intricacies but can't swing every situation to suit our favour.Docherty hadn't shown too much at that point. Jury was out amongst the fans.

You'd have to think the Lions knew Doc was going to be a great player. From a fan perspective, it's a different story.Proven form vs uncertain form. Going home to a struggling side vs another piece in a premiership puzzle down the road.
Happy to disagree.

Apparently it was Tuohy and his management that approached Geelong about him going there, they didnt chase him.Well we were thinking Sydney's 1st initially, then North had some potential players, then he settled on the team with no capacity to give us our price. Definitely a misstep.
Seen him go hard at it sometimes but MIA too often. For all his potential he hasn't delivered enough thus far...treacle.
Wrong on every count.
I reckon we just pony up another 50k and a year to keep tuohy and not risk the humiliation of getting unders for a player that will dominate the league at HB with a top 4 team like Geelong.
We keep Gibbs, he proves a point to everyone and makes AA finally hitting his prime. Injury free and leading a young midfield
We keep tuohy who steps up again for the third consecutive year and gets an AA Spot
Draft Taranto and gallucci in the middle with 5 and 23. Tell gws to take 2nd next year or **** off.
We weren't far off it this year anyway.
This has all the makings of being as good a deal as the Jacobs trade.![]()
We wouldn't be complaining about the Jacobs trade had have we chosen Luke Parker instead of Pat McCarthy, though.
Numbers are important but it's what you do with them that really counts.
Interesting perspective. So who is the Luke Parker at 43 this year? Because I have no idea and based on our history neither do Carlton most likely.
Tuohy needs to go.
He will be 27 in December and isn't a star.
Would rather a youngster get a go, for AFL standards our squad is quite old considering we are a bottom team.
That's not something we here would have much idea about, but the guys whose job it is to watch games, study tapes, do the interviews, should.
We won't know how good the new thinking regime (although many parts are the same) is, until proven.....and that will be few years away yet.
I'm a fan of Tuohy and would much rather see him stay than trade at a perceived loss. However that's thinking in the present, not the future so whatever happens should hopefully benefit all in the long run.Geelong clearly feel he can be relied on for enough and their opinion is most important.
Could mean Tuohy stays, could mean North come back into the picture and we possibly can get more there.
Remember last year we knew nothing about the deal that got us the pick that secured us Sir Charles until it pretty much happened. We are a lot better at being tight lipped than in the past so it will pretty much take nothing happening at all by end of Wednesday I would start being concerned really.
If Sydney knew how good Parker would be then Lamb doesn't go before him. I daresay when later selections come on the deciding rationale would likely be as erroneous as it is astute. That's not something we here would have much idea about, but the guys whose job it is to watch games, study tapes, do the interviews, should.
What about 3-way trade?
Tigers out Pick #27 + Delidio
Tigers in Caddy + #42
Cats out Caddy + #38 + #42
Cats in Delidio + Touhy + #58
Blues out Touhy + #58
Blues in Pick #27 + #38

One in the best of the league at his position, so it's ridiculous to complain about age profile in regards to him. We're not trying to build an U25s team.Dont think I am wrong on every count.
7th oldest squad this season out of 18 teams isnt great considering we are a bottom 4 club.
Given Gibbs is only a year older than Tuohy if we had to keep 1 of these players is Gibbs by a mile way better player than Tuohy
Also do you really believe Tuohy is a star? I dont as I mentioned but you said I was wrong on every count so that is surprising you think he is a star player!
Kersten's set to be a delisted free agent, why would anyone trade pick 35 for him?Hearing Geelong are playing hardball. We have asked for a straight swap for Lang and they have said no. They are said to be waiting for the Kersten compensation pick, which will probably be 35. I believe the trade will then be Smedts and 35 for Tuohy.
Nah he won't be delisted as he played 17 games this year. Geelong would keep him if they could.Kersten's set to be a delisted free agent, why would anyone trade pick 35 for him?
