When Lewis doesn’t play our forward line is dysfunctional, all this talk of chasing a key back has me wondering why aren’t we chasing a another key forward more so as it’s much more of a need
We are.

What a last game. Not the best game they’ve played but can’t question them after the GF game won a few weeks ago, and how tiring this season has been. First half was questionable but second half the pressure definitely improved and was a great end to the 2023 season. So proud of the boys for the season they’ve had, deserved many more wins but we’ll settle with what we got. This year, though we had less wins than 2022, was a great start to the rebuild and we’ve definitely shown how good we can be. Good to have Newc back in the side this week, definitely in Best and Fairest form. Sic, Dimma, Newc, Worp, Moore, Punky all played great games, as always. Great game to the boys, can’t wait to see what they come up with in the pre season (hopefully getting Sticks to do some weights) and looking forward to an amazing 2024.

🤮 hopefully a good reality check for the lads…

Sammy’s not one to give up - but Finn not tagging in the 2nd half; Dimma, Sic, and Scrim up forward at times; Ryan underdone; Meek as sub etc. makes it feel as though it’s more experimental than win-at-all-costs.

Forward x-factor and power are critical to obtain for us moving forward.

I know it’s against received wisdom but when we get to the draft can we pleeeeaaaasssseeeee take the best available forward and not a mid or defender. We are too reliant on Lewis, whose reliability is always a risk, and the 32 year old Bruest. Moorey is good for an early goal, maybe two on a good day, and then seems to dry up. Brocky likely leaves at the end of the year. And Chad is injured and into his thirties. It’s a grim forward line roster as it stands. We can’t move forward with this set up IMO.

43 tackles today. It felt like only about 15 to 20 actually contained the ball. We gave out a lot of loose handballs.
Hopefully shows the team that there's still a lot of work hard work to go and that our depth is pretty thin.

Day, Imp and Moorey showed energy all game

Yeh it is stark when put down in black and white.

Add to the fact that once again Kossy has struggled when asked to be the key target up forward.

Going to take at least two years to turn the forward line around, it's in all sorts.

Don't know quite what to make of that effort.

A meaningless game in reality but still showed up our big structural deficiencies down forward.
Forget Watson we need key position players. Stood out like a sore thumb today without Lewis and Ryan clearly not all with it physically we were completely rudderless. It's frustrating that Lewis can't get himself right consistently week to week because it's costing us games. Bloke is 25 and hasn't played a full season. Sick of the put him in cotton wool talk too. Bloke unfortunately is made of cardboard. Youth wasn't an excuse today they were pretty young themselves. Don't look to anything other than talls in the draft. Sick of being uncompetitive in the air.

They had the stat up before the game that we're 18th for going through the corridor in this latter part of the season; feels like we've thrown the baby out with the bathwater from the early season recklessness. A bit of balance might serve us better.
