R1 2007 we had four debutants including LT and Lachie. Almost beat Collingwood... that one has stuck in my mind because I occasionally crept out of the foetal position into which I was sent by Shannon Grant's poster to remind myself that our future was still bright. There have probably been others the stats gurus can recall - Marstermind ?

Not sure if this answers the question, but these are the first game of the season debutants in all AFL seasons

1991 - (4) - Mark Roberts, Peter Mann, Damian Murray, Justin Staritski

#21 looks a bit of a graveyard number. Only CJ and John Byrne appear to have achieved anything in it.

Less than 12 hours people!!!!!!! Battlestations ready!!!!!! Essendon are going to be #ROOted tonight and not in the good way!

Who are your debutants? I know Zerrett, never heard of Ambrose or Gleeson, what type of players are they? Thought Thurlow was getting a gig?
Ambrose was a bit speculative for mine. He came from the Essendon seconds. Kind of a Crameri clone - that 3rd tall kind of player. Has impressed over the preseason. Don't expect a great deal, but our forward line needs the structure and he'll help create space for Daniher and Ryder.

Gleeson was a draftee from 2012, pick 53. Fair to say he has impressed the s**t out of me. He is very lightly built, but as silky as any player I've seen come through the club in the last decade. He has excellent skills and that evasive in traffic ability to find space. He wears 35, keep an eye out for him. I personally think he is the most promising young prospect at our club. Classy as anything
