I wonder if Bev wants his own Hodge and might get in Dal's ear to pick up his younger brother as a rookie...

Saw his video on the afl website and like the look of him, good size and weight, Michael Hartley from Bombers in VFL. 198cm 102kg key defender.

Also saw a post of a rumour on the KM draft that apparently we are into him (FWIW).

Food for thought anyway.

I like him. Mentioned on another thread that I saw a fair bit of him in the U18's and would like to rookie him (if we miss out on a key back in the national draft). His team would often get smashed yet he did a very good job on his opponent and one of his opponents back then was Patton. Never got a good go at it at Collingwood due to injuries.

I think it's Coburg where he's playing.

This from the AFL web site.

"Boasting great size for a key defender, Hartley made 15 appearances for Coburg in the VFL this year. The 21-year-old former NSW scholarship holder joined the Lions after two years at Collingwood and finished the season averaging more than 11 touches, four marks and four tackles per game. Strong in a number of sports as a youngster, including cricket and basketball, he wasn't able to crack an AFL game during his time as a Magpie and is now intent on another chance at the top level.

He's a fair size. Big enough that he could potentially be a relief ruckman.

Looking forward to this week. The outcome of this draft will have a massive impact on how far this current crop takes us. Any inside info ppl can share is appreciated.

The Drafts come around pretty quick, really excited for it having so many picks. You'd think we will definitely pick up a smokie or two. I just want Menadue to compliment our mids and McLean to partner Dahl at Boyds feet, those two would be bloody awesome as our two specialist small forwards who can move into the midfield. And a couple of talls like Keitel and/or Mcdonald.

Class and speed is where our first priority should be directed. Really feel as though this draft we can have a stronger look on balancing our list.

3 outside runners or 2 outside runners plus one quick inside mid (Menadue, D.McKenzie, D.Cavka, DVR, Gore, Webb, Miller)
1 small forward (McLean/Lonie/Smith)
1 KPF (R.Mckenzie, T.Kietel, J.Cripps)

Not sure on EVW although he probably is best available if still remaining at 26/27.

Found Kelvin31 's post from last year. Obviously has/had a good source, nobody has us linked to Fuller at that stage:

As I said
My late good mail is this...and you take it to the bank:
I can categorically state that we will NOT get Aish or Schara tonight. Macca and co just don't rate Aish's game (as high as some), Schara did not interview well and did not gel with Macca at all (was listed as a ordinary bloke).
Boyd and Kelly are gone.
Tonight in order of availability we will take Billings first;
then
Bonts. 100%
Picks 42 and 60 will see us look for a combination/one of the following players (unless a "star" spills over, which won't happen)
This order may swing, but it should drop like this.
42. Norwood's Matt Fuller http://www.afl.com.au/news/2013-10-20/matthew-fuller
Or
42/60 Sandy's Karl Amon http://www.afl.com.au/news/2013-10-20/karl-amon
60. Ben Brown.(we all know how him by now).
If two of those are gone then Northern's Kane Lambert http://www.afl.com.au/news/2013-10-20/kane-lambert
PS: Gartlett WILL NOT be taken by us at any pick (Hawks gone cold, might get an Eagles/Dockers very late pick).

Said this when it got posted but for those who truely know, is posting that info on here the smartest move in the world? We know journos stalk these pages it's not a big stretch to think the teams with picks around ours might not have a look for the good oil on here? And posters with accurate info get identified pretty easily over time. I'd hate to miss out on a Fyfe because people wanted to prove how good their Intel is and its mucked it up for Dalrymple.

I remember kelvin held off until 6pm that year so he didn't burn the source by ruining things for the club

Clubs would have their own sources.
