some good tracks in there, and some shite also, but that can be said for the 100 as well haha

DLC, Kanye, Rubens, Birds, Beck, Foals, Kendrick, FIDLAR all there is good

That grizzly track is one of the 5 pretty good songs I've heard in the 2 years I've been hearing triple j in my mates car on the way to and from work. Impala have the 2 tracks and the other 2 I don't know the song or band but 1 song has Doors like organ with distorted sounded bass with a couple of blokes singing at the same time. Anyone know the song?

Whats your source Gibbsy? Spewing I looked at it, dont know why I ruined it for myself haha

Edit: dont worry, found it

The Wombats and Mumford and Sons are not only still going, but people vote for their songs...that's impressive.

I love the way these lists always feature these heavy/poppy bands like The Amity Affliction. They stand out beyond belief.

Does anyone think this talk about he lack of females in the 100 is ridiculous?
Erin Riley was the one who brought it up. I never put much wait into what she says, almost on Clementine Ford levels.

Are they criticising the lack of females played on the station in general, or in the top 100 count?

Because if it's the voting count that's ridiculous because its voted by the general public, it wouldn't matter if there was not one female listed.

In the top 100.

It's usually some bullshit about how people aren't courageous enough to vote for music created by/performed by females.

Or, you know, people just don't like that stuff quite as much.

And I think what it comes down to is that the spectrum of musical styles for female artists is smaller and there is less of it, so of course when there's an open public vote where there is a huge variety in musical tastes, there are going to be less votes for female artists.

dont get the female representation argument at all
JJJ uneathered allows any act male or female to get played
anyone can vote in the hottest 100 (was almost even ratio of gender voting)
They could potentially play more female music but it could be at the detriment to the station and music quality with other great mixed or male acts going un noticed

What nonsense. If people want equality they need to realise that things will be judged on the product REGARDLESS of what sex you are. You can't have equality then ask for extras. It's like TV ads, nearly all of them are the smart, strident, in control mum/female with the dumb, goofy dad/male. Where's the equality there? I don't see people complaining.

These people are just confused about what they want and whinge.
