I take a more logical view, imo Rnd 1 and rounds after the byes are excellent times to eat up interstate trips.

There's no short weeks etc and we give ourself the best chance at knocking off a 50/50 match earlier in the year, with full fitness

Paddy Dan"J"erfield to play a blinder against us just to shore up the huge offer we are going to make to him.

at least we get 1 interstate game out of the way early, it hasn't made a difference where we have played we are just s**t in round 1 so if we win it will be a big bonus (interstate trip out of the way and the 4 points).

Oh lord, the Monday is a public holiday, I will be making the trip over.

I think we shift the mod meeting from the Chaddy food court to the Crazy Horse..........

Done! Do they still have the glass bath at the end of the stage?

I hadn't factored in Easter. We'll be there for sure.

So we have the Crows in round 1 in SA. With our typical poor starts I was hoping for the Dees!!

We ended their season in Tassie and with a new coach in front of a big crowd this will be a very big ask.

I'm happy to be playing them round 1.
Just wish it was in Melbourne.

This is what I've heard on the grapevine...

Twice
Geelong (Etihad and Skilled)
Fremantle
Essendon
Richmond (MCG and Hobart)
Brisbane

Once
Hawthorn
Sydney
Port Adelaide
West Coast (H) Hobart
Adelaide (A)
Collingwood
Gold Coast (A)
Carlton
Western Bulldogs
GWS
Melbourne
St Kilda (H) Hobart

Brisbane is probably a pretty bad bottom 8 double to cop, I'd be trying to avoid them and the GC.

That sounds pretty good - the double ups not as tough as I'd expect given our finishing position last season.

I hope ur right. 2 games in QLD is great for me.

Is playing a good/well supported VIC team a waste to play at Hobart? Much rather play interstate or Saints/Doggies/Demons there.

So we double against 4 top 8 teams and 1 middle (interestate) team? Seems tougher than normal no?

very happy if thats the case. I expect essendon, richmond, brisbane to miss finals. With Geelong sliding down the ladder a bit. Decent draw for a prelim finish

Yep, we seem to play them twice a lot and it feels we drop at least one even when we're killing it and theyre barely fielding a team.

I could certainly live with that. Long trip for West Coast if that's true though.

What I deduce from that is, home games at etihad: Brisbane, Freo, Sydney, GWS, Port Adelaide, Essendon, Geelong, and 2 of Collingwood, WB, Hawthorn, Melbourne, and Carlton.

Other Melbourne based away games will be: Richmond and Essendon (rich at the G, ess at etihad?) and 3 of of Collingwood, Melbourne, WB, Hawks, and Carlton. I think we'll get home against Carlton and Hawks. Away games against WB at ethiad, Collingwood at the G and Melbourne at the G. So three games at the G in total.

Etihad 'blockbusters': vs Hawks, vs Geelong, vs Essendon, vs Carlton. That's it. Then just games vs interstaters. I hope that Sydney and Port (and maybe even Freo) games end up drawing decent crowds for what will be big games.

Andrew Newbold was just on radio.
Said you have a home game against Hawthorn in Tasmania.
And a return game against them at the MCG.

I'd say Carlton will be a home game at Etihad. Seems to alternate every year and they had their home game this year.

Not for a long time have we been graced by the presence of the giant dog turd -

was a great place to go during school holidays...

To me it was a great place to stagger past on the traditional mid 90's midnight drunken journey from The Grand to Lenny's.
