Are you going to the game caesar88? Apparently most of everyone else has forgotten its on.
I think I am Ticky. I got a message from Ticketmaster telling me there were still 59,999 seats available, so might bring a plus one maybe.

Last chance to watch Buddy play live mate. Enjoy it.

Nah, I'm saying 70. I think we kick a lot of behinds

Fear not. Hill Wayward has a new set shot routine. This involves facing away from the Target and kicking over his head.

Club is confident he has put the work in

The cement parking lot is a hard place to play. We don't fair so well against the Purple Pain there. We will need to bring our A game. Freo are not that good but they have a couple of fast chappies that keep to bother our players. In saying that our forwards are a new breed, other than the Justified and Ancient, Buddy. I think the height in our forward line will bother them and the fact Amartey is so fast when defending may bother them. I watched the Eagles match again and he ran down their fastest player and got him. So, having so many big men is not a problem when one could probably win the 400 meters at any national meet.

I looked at the time on the time for the match on the app and thought 'Oh yeah, it's a night match'. Then remembered it was in Perth, which is only one hour ahead of me here in Laos, so an evening/twilight match rather than night.

I will watch on my Notebook. I do not like Freo matches. They remind me of the matches against West Coast as far as scoring goes but much duller. Freo play a very ugly, horrible, dull brand of footy. They grind teams down. i want to see us take them on and use a type of Blitzkrieg on them. Hit them hard and fast, don't let them get balanced. Smash them in the clearances. They are not a great clearance side either. Our mids need to stand up and be counted. I think, as much as he is still getting possessions, Parker would be more valuable as a forward now. Especially today. He could be a match winner against their defence. Warner steps back into the mids, that will definitely make a difference.

Very interesting discussion about playing young mids in the mids and not as half forwards by King & co on First Crack and then the guys from On The Couch. They think coaches are wasting the opportunity to blood young mids who when they do go into the mids have high impact but only after being dropped multiple times due to playing HF. I agree. We have a very good example. Sheldrick was dropped three times for not being any value as a forward. but when we had a few injuries and had to play him as a mid he blossomed. Every person in footy knew this would happen except our coaches. Why? But our coaches and not Robinson Crusoe, it happens at other clubs too. Look what happened with Butter & Rosie. rosie was dying on a HFF but as soon as moved into the mids he's suddenly as star. Same with Butters. Why could the coach not see this when every footy follower knew this? What's more, using young mids as Half forwards demeans the role of the true specialist HF and does not give them game time to develop their game at the level. So, in consequence I agree with the ex players who want to see mids developed as mids not HF. Young Corey Warner was played at HF against Dogs and got 3 disposals. He would have been far more value on a wing or in the mids, even though his body is not quite ready.

I would like to see one HF play further up the ground, opening up more space forward. This will give the leading players, bud, Amartey, Logan, Heens etc more room to lead into. The roaming HF can play as an extra mid at stoppages and rove across the centre of the ground as a link player.

Goos luck today everyone. I hope you all have a wonderful game and that we bring home the biscuits.

Like that we have gone in with a smaller/nimble looking line up.

We usually play Optus Oval quite well, I am expecting a win.

We do need to shut down the Freo rebound from half back. Hopefully we continue to lower the eyes and find the best target rather than the bomb long thing that is so infuriating.

If we win will need a whole team effort, if we lose it will be because of caesar88 😂

I’m looking forward to you still trying to tell us serong isn’t that good like you have mentioned multiple times but Stephens is cemented lol
Yes, fair point.

Even I stuff up …. occasionally.

PS: I still don’t think Serong is very good.

I view Young and Jordan Clark as Freo’s danger men (with Darcy out). And their back 6, led by Luke Ryan - still one of the better defensive units in the league.
