Well the first and only tour match starts on Wednesday.

And yes this isn't going to be a great series. The West Indian team isn't much chop. Chris Gayle hasn't played tests in a while, Chanderpaul is in his 40s, Narine is a chucker, Shillingford has disappeared and Dwayne Bravo retired years ago.

They have a 24 Captain in Holder who has played all of 10 tests with a 22 year old Kraigg Brathwaite as his vice captain. Marlon Samuels and Denesh Ramdin provide the 'wise and experienced' support.

Holder, Brathwaite and Blackwood are pretty good young talents and Darren Bravo is a good player.
Their probably attack of Roach, Taylor, Gabriel, Holder and Bishoo isn't bad but given how flat the wickets are going to be to prop up their batting it's going to be hard for them to do much.

From an Australian point of view it will be great to see James Pattinson back in action and Lyon is set to play his 50th test.

But before all the inevitable complaints about why didn't New Zealand get the Boxing Day and New Years Tests - things were set a few years ago.
Yes the actual dates were only announced earlier this year and yes New Zealand apparently would love to play Boxing Day in Melbourne.
But Cricket Australia organises tours years in advance. We were set to tour Bangladesh earlier this month and then host New Zealand and the West Indies this summer, host India for an ODI series this January and then tour New Zealand.
Changing the dates around this team of year last minute basically *s over the scheduling of pretty much every test nation and believe it or not, but CA doesn't have that kind of authority.

People will just ignore that and keep bitching. What they probably don't realise, is that NZ were a rabble around the time the schedule would have been made- I.e. NZ first etc.

The best thing that could happen to World Cricket would be a strong West Indies side. As poor as they are, they are still my favorite team to watch.

The west indies team that is touring this summer would have to be their weakest ever. Apart from samuels and bravo they have no genuine top end talent. Holder is a decent player but should have never been made captain. They have no genuine number 5,6 batsmen. Their bowling lineup is half decent but i feel it will be a long summer for them.
Their team should look like this and wouldve given australia a challenge:

Gayle
Brathwaite
Darren Bravo
Samuels
Dwayne Bravo
Pollard
Ramdin
Holder
Taylor
Roach
Narine

Hwat have pollard and narine done at test level?

Both have had little exposure to test cricket because of their debacle of a cricket board. They are without doubt in their best 15 players. Its a shame they havent put their best team on the park for a number of years. This has coincided with their decline in world cricket.
Who would you rather bowl to you if you were peter siddle.. keiron pollard or dowrich?
Unfortunately narine has been tainted with his action but is one of the hardest spinners to pick in the short form of the game where he excels. You could replace him with benn who has the experience. Bringing out an inexperienced team to australia is like a lamb to the slaughter.

Pollard hasn't played test cricket because he's an agricultural hack.

Narine because 1) He's a chucker and 2) he's not hard to play once you don't have to score at 10 an over

Can't wait for the commentators to mention Chris Gayle not playing a million times.

Actually since he's playing in the BBL on a rival network they might restrain themselves.

Any good movies coming out?

Creed looks good.

Apparently there is another Star Wars film coming soon as well... That's what I've heard anyway.
