Bloody oath great memories not only fantastic footballer even better bloke
Can't even begin to imagine the hate he would have experienced just cause he wanted to play footy. Pioneer and true star of our club and the game.

When Syd climbed into one of his beautiful drop-kicks off the HFF at PP you could hear the thunk right down Royal Parade. Him and Billy Barrot, wow........
And Ian Robertson.

Lee Adamson had a very negative attitude to Syd Jackson. Game after game. Plenty of opportunities given Carlton and Collingwood played each other in finals. I probably mentioned this in 'Down Memory Lane' but Adamson sledged Syd for not going in hard enough by calling him 'yellow'. Syd retorted 'You must be colour blind mate'.

I love Syd. My favourite moment was his snap goal from the boundary in the 3rd quarter of the '70 GF. One of the best.
