Didn't know Neale Daniher was so sick. The guys I mentioned were guys with experience as it seems many clubs are putting guys with senior coaching experience next to their senior coach as a mentor so I thought these guys might be ok. I do take your point however that they might of had their time.

As I mentioned I would really like Brad Gotch current South Adelaide Coach former VFL Coach and AFL assistant who worked at Port Adelaide very recently under Ken Hinkley.

Also would be very eager to see guys like Leigh Tudor, Peter German, Nathan Bassett, Shaun Hart or Gary O'Donnell be approached to join the Club for the position that Luke Beveridge was going to take on.

Good point!!!! I'm a big wrap for Peter German and a massive wrap for Tudor. Tudor seems to go to sides with a shot at a flag though :-(

Yeah me too. I think they could both be excellent AFL Senior Coaches if they were given opportunities and would very eagerly welcome either or to the Saints in whatever coaching capacity we could find for them.

Think Tudor prefer's the actual "coaching" rather than all this "director of"
If he wants to a senior birth it's the perfect stepping stone. It's so effective his predecessor got one before he even started!

It's also the same role Richo had at Port

Would spud actually fit well? His coaching reign at Richmond isnt exactly something to write home about.

Loved Spud watched him play a heap of games and he is GREAT club man but not a good fit for the job

Since nobody else was going to post the link I will:

Confusion now surrounds Hawthorn's announcement on Friday that Danny Frawley would join the club, with the popular media commentator now contemplating a move to St Kilda.

But it has since emerged he has received a more substantial offer from St Kilda, although this is still a part-time role. He has made the Hawks aware of this offer.

Both clubs hope for a resolution by the end of the weekend.

If he joins Hawthorn, he will work with Adem Yze, who has replaced Luke Beveridge as the full-time back-line coach.

I wonder what role we want him as? A specialist defensive coach is the obvious choice and probably a good one, but is there any chance we could be looking for him to be a part time replacement for Bevo?

He has senior coaching experience and plenty of experience at the coaches association so he could be a good fit for a watered down version of the Director of Coaching role. If we are looking for someone to make sure all the coaches are on the same page and developing well then I think he could be a good option on such short notice.

I know the club has said they are going to worry about the Head of Footy as priority but this could be an opportunistic hiring to fill a role the club clearly thinks is necessary. If we didn't think he was on the market and only just heard about him and the Hawks job then it could explain the rushed nature of the news.

Tudor seems to have been more highly fancied than Watters, McCartney, Bevo, Hinkley, Cameron etc if you believe all the hype.
But..... he still hasnt got a gig after all this time. So im not as 100% sure he is senior coaching material like some peeps think he is.
Think Tudor might end up like Brian Royal. Highly respected & admired, but just as a full time assis coach.
Mind you there is only so many senior AFL coaching spots ever up for grabs. No shame in being a great assistant coach.

He's an amazing coach. Probably the best one going around. But I agree he's not senior coach material. He's not a manager. I don't think he'd enjoy all the aspects required of a senior coach

Bit of a hard decision for spud. He could join the Hawks and be part of a premiership winning side next year or come back to his club and help build our next premiership team.

Just give him a full time position and bill the afl for it.

Wow turns out we've made a pitch at Frawley. Not sure what role but is more substantial than what the hawks offered him
I love the Spud. Was a great Skipper & back man. But i was a bit surprised Hawks are going to sign him up as a defensive coach.
Everything has changed since Spud played. No smashing a full forward in the back of his head or chopping his arms for starters:p
I can understand signing up a gun goal kicker ( Lloyd, Dunstal) because kicking for goal hasnt changed. But stopping an opponent is a whole different ball game since Danny played.
Were we looking at poaching Spud as an assis coach or as a committee/board member?

Now with Spud back in a coaching role could he convince his mate Bung head Dunstall to take on the head of football role. Bung did good things at Haw and is generally thought of as being the architect of this current good run at the hawks. We could do worse but having said that don't think he would come across to us somehow.

Like your thinking, hadn't even thought of Dunstall apparently he done a great job at hawks
