Hawthorn - four peat?

four peat?

Threepeat is a shitty Americanism, but at least it makes sense.
Instead of saying "Back to back champions", over there they talk about "Repeat champions"

2x = Repeat
3x = Threepeat

It's not a bad play on words - not great - but passable.

But I draw the line at "four peat". F**k that.

How about 'Quaddie' ?
Quaddie is gold.

Hawthorn should be favourites next year for sure. Biggest loss is Lake, but Frawley will step in and they'll probably blood Howe or that other lad.

Hodge, Mitchell, Gibson & Burgoyne are the only veterans, and they've got a good 12 months left.

Roughead, Lewis, Birchall, Frawley, Gunston, Breust, Shiels, Stratton, Langford are all in their prime or coming to it.

No one is getting near Hawthorn next year unless they make significant improvements and stop whinging about playing a GF at the MCG. Hawks will play either Port, Eagles, or Sydney in the GF next year. No Vic side is good enough to either get there, or win it against any of the mentioned 4 sides.

threepeat rhymes with repeat so has a ring to it. Fourpeat doesn't, but might catch on on the back of threepeat, or it might just be called the quad.
That is when Hawthorn is 4th at end of next season and it's talked about a couple of times before they are bundled out! They'll lose the qual like they did this year, then get eliminated, maybe by Dogs or Richmond.

I hope the team take into consideration how Bigfooty will fit so many little premiership trophies into Hawthorn supporters profile sections.

Except you are 0-2 against Hawthorn when it matters

2001 SF Port Power 10.9 69 Hawthorn 10.12 72 Football Park (30,619 - to Port Power's first ever SF no less)
2014 PF Hawthorn 15.7 97 Port Power 13.16 94 MCG (74,856 - biggest non 119 game in Port's history)

Honestly how the hell is Hawthorn your bitches?

Don't talk about poor crowds. You guys got something like 8k against us at your HOME GROUND the MCG in the early 2000s! BTW 2004 GF was 77k, wrong again. Ports bitches :D

For a another flag we can't be 4-4 again, need to bank the wins early and then manage senior players while introducing youth. Was hoping this would happen this year. If it doesn't we'll keep losing depth players and the next generation to other clubs.

Remember 2 of those losses came with our blokes about to kick the winning goal when the siren blew ( Breust-Ess), & a crucial error by Cyril (fumble vs-Swans)....Add in G/C being robbed against the W/C & we could quite easily have finished first/second.

We also had the best & most superior attack/defense & % League-wide!....We aint going anywhere hombre.:)

There is no way they'll win 4 in a row.

Scraped into the top 4 this year and won the flag on experience. Another year into Hodge and Mitchell will be the nail in the coffin I'm afraid.
They won the flag on experience you say, but another year of experience into players is a nail in the coffin you say. Yep makes sense...

Your best players are 31 and 33 years old respectively. They have won four flags, and three in a row. How much more do they have to prove? How much longer can they go on for? One injury and it's game over.

Collingwood got 1 flag with a young list and that was it.

We aint Collingwood for one. And we've heard all these too old, too slow myths a 1,000 times over. Keep hoping!

You made the point that they only won this year due to experience? I'm saying if that's the reason they won it why would they be , in your words 'no chance' of winning four in a row because of their experienced players playing on? You stated "They have won four flags, and three in a row. How much more do they have to prove? How much longer can they go on for? One injury and it's game over." They have nothing to prove, but they've never had anything to prove, they are just a committed group of individuals with an insatiable will to win, and that's the beauty of teams that continue to succeed, their willingness to keep winning. The only reason the Hawks won't win the flag next year is if another team steps up their game like port did in 2004.

Better stock up on 40 year olds to make an assault on the flag, because, of course, more experience is simply better...

Experience can get you over the line but eventually your body will fail you.
My comment was in response to the poster that claimed they're no chance after winning this year through experience but using their experienced players playing in as the reason they're no chance. My point is that experience isn't the reason and it's foolish to think so.
