Strolling through Facebook I found that the old Heaven nightclub is re-opening soon. (It says that Pamela Anderson is coming soon ;)). http://www.heaven.com.au/index.html

Anyway never was old enough to go there, was it any good?

What places do you go /did you used to go around our fair city?

Personally am a bit over town already and just really a fan of:

Duke
Flashies (Wed's at HQ)
Casino
Pubs

Haha, that is gold, I walk past that on my way to work I think I’ll be going just to have a look (I never went to Heaven much, I used to get stuck at the Planet)

As for nightlife it really depends on what day we are talking about.

On a Monday-Tues I generally stick around Rundle or Gouger street
Wednesday – I hit the local pub (depending on my residential address at the time)
Thursday nights its usually Hutt street (ot places like the Tivoli on the walk home) or Pultney street for ease of getting home or Rundle Street
Friday is a combo or Waymouth/Currie streets and then Rundle Street/Gouger Street

People who say there is nowhere to go in Adelaide generally have NFI, saying that you can’t expect to but out much later than 2 in the morning on week night outside of nightclubs (and yes I work full time business hours)

My favourite pubs to go
Duke of York
Stag
Griffin head
Coopers Ale House
The Leicester (No.1!!)
Usually down Gouger we end up near Sangria bar or that nightclub around the corner

When I lived in Adelaide:

Pubs:
Cumberland
Earl of Leicester
Daniel O'Connell
Ale House
Lotus Lounge
Richmond Hotel

Clubs:
Traffic (closed...many memories)
Minke Bar -> Electric Circus
Rocket Bar
Sugar (when it was decent)
Garage (see above)
Mojo West
Vodka Bar

Spent many Wednesday nights at the Planet back in the day. 50c beers/$2 jugs...was the best deal in town...and it only took 10 minutes to get accustomed to the perpetual smell of vomit.

Hah, Timewarp back, that's golden.

I wonder if it will have the same owners ...

Rocket is my favourite place in Adelaide. Jive, the Cumby, Supermild and Garage all go well.

I'm surprised no one has said the Palace or the Crazy Horse;)

But seriously, the dog and duck goes alright, or the Austral, Woodshed (on a Friday or Saturday), London or the Exeter are all good. :thumbsu:

Quiet drink at a pub - Earl of Leicester , Bath , Archers , Robin Hood

To get sloshed and party - Reds , Jive , Winstons , Grand , Mars

Places to avoid - Dog & Duck (w***ers go there) Stag (w***ers go there) Alma (w***ers and desperate skanks go there) Ramsgate (Henley tossers) Shots (fat emo w***ers)

Anyone been to Apple?

How does it go?
Good set-out, people that run it are w***ers.

Thursday is generally good but if there is a reasonable DJ in there, they have been known to charge up to $25 to get in!

Can't say I've been there on a Friday, I would steer clear on a Saturday. It's run by a different crowd and it's VERY strict attire.

Very good setout though.

Mostly good calls but for Winstons and I can't say I've had the Mars experience ...:D

I like Winstons , a very chilled crowd goes there. Which is strange because its right next door to Shots which is full of whiney emo guys and fat emo women.

As for Mars , if youre comfortable with your sexuality then its a seriously good place to party. Scored my fair share of vajayjay there.

No way mate! The whole east end is flooded with tough guys. The bouncers only let in the women and the drink prices are shocking. Robin Hood is a great place to watch the footy and have a drink! Havent heard a bad word about the Hood :thumbsu: (until now)

sorry mate can't handle the place :thumbsu:

I used to live 3 doors down from the place, it was my regular.

then they did the renovations, started charging s**t loads for crap food (don't get me wrong I don't mind paying coin for food so i'm not one of those parmi and a pint for $10 type of person, i've been known to spend +$200 pp just for food)

then the ********s came along and there wanna be girlfriends

luckily I moved to Parkside and the Leicester which I love.

and no i'm not in any government housing, I owned both my places.

Hahaha fair enough mate - what is it that turns you off? I usually only go there Friday night or Saturday afternoon but Ive always seen it as a more mature crowd with fair drink prices and a sweet outdoor area. I find the Alma is where all the ****heads and their wannabe girlfriends are at , which is why I avoid it unless it's for a quiet Sunday drink - its a shame because its a good pub , just ruined by heroes.

Leicester = magnificent , one of the most underrated pubs in Adelaide.

Anyone got any references for gawler or places in the barossa for sensible crowds on weekends?

Went to the Crazy horse awhile back and was the sober driver (we were coming in from Kapunda) and they didnt like me, didnt really want to serve me soft drink, soon stopped serving my mate when they realised we just were looking and wernt interested in a lap dance.Thing is your suppose to remain in your seats, bit hard to get a drink when your no good to the lap dancers and thus are avoided by the waitress's!

Lived in Gawler all my life, the Xchange is good on weekends, especially good in the summer months with the beer garden. Usually have Djs playing had some great nights there. The bushies is also a quality pub as well - some fantastic renovations, however the fingerprint entry is taking things a bit far.

Bushies on a Friday night until it closes and then a mad rush to the Exchange to get in before they stop taking entries. :D

Exchange is the place to be on a Saturday night, but Saturday nights are a lot quieter. I think most people head to town. Sometimes you'll get unlucky and it'll be no entry until late because someone has booked out the place for an 18th or a 21st though.
