No you can't because you are clearly bias to your own players. Gibbs is NOT a better prospect than Pendlebury, Thomas, Leunberger amongst others.

that depends on whether you have the skill and sbility to look beyong plain performance today, and look for attributes that may translate into the future.

whether you're right or wrong, just saying - so and so has achieved more to-date - indicates you're not really at the races when it comes to answering the question.

To be honest, I was going to say Pendlebury, but he doesn't really seem like he can win a game off his own boot. The three I mentioned, have enough skill + talent to, but pendlebury just seems like an extremely good average player. If that makes sense?

Hmmm Can't win a game of his own boot? What has me scratching my head, is that he kicks more goals than Murphy and Selwood... Not sure re Deledio. But Selwood and Murphy can win a game of their own boot?

If there is a youngster that can win a game of his own boot... That has actually won games of his own boot, it is Dale Thomas.

I think you need to watch more of him and then watch some other games that don't involve collingwood

Why would he need to do that? He has produced some good stats that counter the argument he was responding too. I think YOU need to read his post a bit more carefully because he actually contributed with some very insightful facts.

Many of the players mentioned are not only just as talented as Gibbs, but they have shown more. CLearly at this stage they are better prospects. It is quite obvious.

Umm... ignore Pendlebury and Thomas... bloke named Marty Clarke is more influential then those guys.

WTF is that supposed to mean? Did I put forward Collingwood players after i posted what i did to Bluez??
So has Gibbs shown more than deledio, pendlebury, ryder, Jones so far has he?

Don't worry there is this mundane stereotype that mostly stupid people follow that Collingwood supporters are more one eyed regardless of how balanced your opinions maybe.

i do rate Pendles..but not Thomas he seems to be hot and cold too much..bit of a show pony that will get him in trouble ie get caught alot

He is a bit of a show pony. That's who he is. He is an extremely talented young player, and I've even seen Essendon fans on here liken him to a young James Hird. Those are some big wraps from neutral fans. Time will tell... but until then, he's won us two games and contributed greatly to many more. Consistancy will come with maturity, and greater time in the engine room, as opposed to playing as a forward pocket/flank - a position seemingly defined by inconsistancy.

i never said anyone else was overrated in this thread did i?

Not in this thread, no. I just find it difficult to fathom how any Collingwood player could be overrated when you refer to football followers as a whole, considering how most are considered duds. Results oppose these views, but who would let something like results get in the way of their agenda?

Collingwood fans may overrate some players, just like every club's supporters do.

As soon as someone doesn't rate Thomas they lose any credibility and are not worthy of genuine reply. Sorry mate that is a bigfooty guideline you should follow.

Thanks Hellfire...agree totally..apart from the Hird likeness..as with all the youngsters, time will tell. But the bashing Gibbs cops on BF is quite unfair on the kid. I think i have a right to stick up for him.

More influential? Nope. Not yet. Perhaps in the odd game he was, but he doesn't influence the side like Pendlebury in particular does. In fact, Pendlebury's absence in the midfield is so noticable it's painful. I remember sitting there during the Brisbane flogging, and the Carlton match (injured early in the former, missed the latter), and thinking "my god, how quickly has this kid become the most vital cog in our midfield?" He's not the greatest accumulator, but his impact is massive for us.

i think you might find a few people would agree with me..if not then opinions are like ****holes, everyone has one

no credibilty cause i dont rate Thomas?..pfft

Yep that's right. Your opnion is very stupid re Thomas. Sorry but that's the way it is.

Can we have threads that do not include posts by Collingwood supporters (and any Carlton supporters who actually think Gibbs is any good)

Can we not have the NMFC so we don't have posts like this. Hmmmm... Maybe my wish will come true. More than likely in the next few years LOL! :)

If he is your most vital cog, then Collingwood are going to fall on hard times pretty quickly. He is a good player, not great...

If you're going to make your way into a "young talent" thread, you'll generally find it's swarming with Carlton and Collingwood supporters, as both have excellent youth. Personally, I'd like to come into these threads without reading rubbish from trolls like you.
