If he is your most vital cog, then Collingwood are going to fall on hard times pretty quickly. He is a good player, not great...

hmmm is Thomas out most vital cog? Or is it Cloke? Or is it Pendles? Or is it Martin Clarke... as a Geelong supporter suggested in this thread? hmmmm good times ahead for the pies. What is Norths future like? hmmmmm?

WTF is that supposed to mean? Did I put forward Collingwood players after i posted what i did to Bluez??
So has Gibbs shown more than deledio, pendlebury, ryder, Jones so far has he?

no you clown, you're presuming that actual performance today is the best indicator of future performance. which in players that young, of different roles, types, and physical proportions is just garbage.

We'll see won't we. I can see why you wouldn't understand if you don't watch closely in our matches. He clears the ball from a pack, to a free player, where anyone else in the team would've been caught and another stoppage created. It seems unimpressive because he makes it look so easy, but I and many others appreciate it, because it's something we have lacked for a long time.

FWIW, 26 touches, a goal and 5 tackles + 24 touches, a goal and 5 tackles - in our two winning finals. He is vital.

If that is what you think, come and post that on our board.

They have a stalinist approach on the nmfc board. I was red carded. Seems North supporters don't want to fathom the harsh reality that they may become extinct. Very prescious on the NMFC board. Yeah I was red carded for suggesting that they go to the Gold Coast. LOL.

Many of the players mentioned are not only just as talented as Gibbs, but they have shown more. CLearly at this stage they are better prospects. It is quite obvious.

speaking of not being at the races...
you'll have to first understand the point before you can even think of rebuking.

and its obviously straight over your tiny head.

Our kids will sh*t all over yours and you've had yours longer. Even Arocca and Trainor saw the light. Money doesn't buy success on the field.

Funny you say that because as soon as we said we didn't want to go there, Eddie jumps up and says, "Collingwood will play on the gold coast." Funny that... As I said, making a few more dollars won't buy success on the field

Stupid? doubt it..hey but thats your opinion.

read what hellfire responded to my post ..he hit the nail on the head

I was dissapointed with Hellfire as a fellow Collingwood supporter that he would even bother with a fool that doesn't rate Thomas. Didn't even read is response. Whatever Thomas' flaws are are far outweighed by his attributes. Every player in the comp has flaws. Even Buckley had them.

calling me a fool now mudslinger...you need to get a clue...off to bed night everyone else...

Gibbs will be a very good player, he has the potential to be a champion. He has shown it in glimpses. But at this stage, based on performance, he doesn't deserve to be mentioned with the other guys listed. He may turn out to be better thant he rest, who knows - but at this stage... no way.
Doesn't that mean I can't rate Hawkins and Leuenberger as two of the best young players in the AFL?

Your criteria would have ruled out Pendlebury from being listed as a rising star this time last year.
No you can't because you are clearly bias to your own players. Gibbs is NOT a better prospect than Pendlebury, Thomas, Leunberger amongst others.
I take it you haven't seen him play?

Gibbs finished seventh in the rising star award as a bottom age player in his first year.

Ahead of a second year player in Ryder no less.

I think Bryce has done enough to be labelled a rising star after playing 22 games as a 17 year old and putting in great cameos in the pre-season.
Whats with people saying Murphy?

Gee i wished the Pies picked him, i'd love a soft and slow midfielder who can't kick over 40 metres at the club.
Pffffft!

You have O'Bree.

I don't care about Collingwood;s financial position. Why would I? I know and you know and everyone else knows we are rich. That we are powerful. I couldn't care less these days... I take it for granted. I know our financial positions and the fact that we have the best facilities does help our players get the most out of themselves. NMFC for instance... maybe there's not a day that goes by that you don't think about their financial position. LOL.

Buckleys biggest flaw is that he actually went to Collingwood

Thomas' biggest flaw is he actually thinks he is a champion

Collingwoods midfield is slow... Face Facts

:D

Don't be disappointed. I'm just sick of this place being non-stop trolling on everyone's part. I'm trying to be reasonable, without bias. Thomas IS inconsistant, and he IS a show-pony. If someone chooses not to rate him, that doesn't really worry me, but I definately don't agree with it. I'm very confident he'll be a champion for the club, and for the league, but it won't happen overnight. Players like him take time to develop consistancy, and the right decision making. The best example I can think of is Ablett Jr. For years people said he wasn't living up to his potential (despite still being a very good player), and then BANG! In 2007 he's arguably the best player in the league (for the year).

and over a milion sydneysiders think that Alan Jones is a model citizen and beacon of the community. So what?

In other words, one good year doesn't make you. Back it up. Do you not understand what is being said here?

Correct. I wouldn't have ranked Pendlebury anywhere near the top this time last year. Leuenberger has shown a lot for his limited opportunity, Hawkins will need more time.
