without being highly active WCE have cleaned our list cloggers and gaineda solid player and a good pick.

Good result - could have upgraded one of our early second round picks for a first round to produce an excellent result. Perhaps could have traded another list clogger

Pretty excited by what Carlton have got out of this.

In essence we got a young KPP & a much needed tough inside midfielder who is only 23 and has nearly played 100 AFL games.

All for the cost of Fev (sure he is a gun, but watch out for the news to come out) and a 3-4th round pick...

Absolutely wrapped with what has transpired.

Melbourne did a really smart thing getting 11 for Maclean. So they win for mine. Hard to beat four picks inside top 20.

Port robbery of the week.....Burgoyne PFFTTTT, not worth 9 and 16 IMO (and yes seen him play ...... reckon I even watched all four of his GOOD games)

Eagles nice work getting 22 for Seaby, who no one rated and most Swans supporters on here were adamant was barely worth 4th rounder!

Saints grabbed some pace which is god for them.

Pies grabbed Jolly but stuffed Ball and Saints around.

Blues got a fair kid in Henderson for a tool on Fev, plus got Maclean (not sure why??)

Great to see some action anyway :thumbsu:

Roll on Nov 26th

Off the top of my head:

Adelaide: N/A
Brisbane: 3 (traded away a lot of picks for a lot of dud players. Gave up too much in the Fev trade)
Collingwood: 6 (lose a few marks for failing to get Ball over the line)
Carlton: 8 (won the Fev deal easily and McLean was a fair trade)
Essendon: 6 (got a good pick for Lovett. I'm a bit iffy about Williams though)
Fremantle: 5 (neither trade was very big)
Geelong: 2 (lost Mumford from an already weak ruck division and just juggled around a few late picks)
Hawthorn: 4 (should have gotten more for Kennedy and gave too much for Gibson)
Melbourne: 7 (getting pick 11 seems to have been good work by Melbourne. Will await Ball in the PSD hopefully)
North Melbourne: 7 (got some reasonable picks for Josh Gibson who isn't fantastic)
Port Adelaide: 0 (traded for Jay Schultz)
Richmond: 10 (traded away Jay Schultz)
St.Kilda: 2 (will likely lose Ball for nothing and I've never been hot for Lovett)
Sydney: 7 (got a good pick for Jolly and replaced him with Seaby and Mumford. Kennedy from the Hawks should also be a good pickup)
Western Bulldogs: 5 (got Hall for a late pick that they mightn't have even used)
West Coast: 7 (got a good young midfielder and pick 22 for some pretty average players and picks)

As much as it pains me to say it ;) I think the dons have done quite well.

Keep a first round pick, got their man in Williams, and moved on Lovett.

Maybe a bit pricy pick 16 for Williams, but basically it becomes a straigh swap Lovett for Will, which is probbably fair.

Happy we got our men in Burgoyne and Gibson and were able to get something for a couple of blokes who wanted to move on.

Port look as though they have decided to re-build, which i think is a positive. Held on to picks and should get some good kids.

Belter of a trade week!!!!

Adelaide: 8/10
- Did nothing, didn’t need to do anything

Brisbane: 3/10
- Traded in a lot of list cloggers, lost 1st round pick and the best young prospect on their list. Got Fevola but take the baggage ($700k salary, culture & sexual assault allegations) with him. Will need a premiership in the next 3 years otherwise this trade period was a big mistake

Carlton: 6.5/10
- Lost Fevola yet gained a young KP prospect. Added hardness to the midfield and still remained in the 1st round.

Collingwood: 3.5/10
- Didn’t get the Ball deal done. No 1st round pick. Should have traded Fraser, either he or Wood will now play VFL in 2010.

Essendon: 6/10
- Paid well over the odds for Mark Williams. Got adequate compensation for Lovett. Extra 2nd round pick will come in handy

Fremantle: 5/10
- Added late picks and lost 2 players who were not required

Geelong: 8/10
- Lost Mumford but had no choice of matching Sydney's offer. Got Drum for close to nothing. Will most likely make 4-5 selections in the draft which is what they would have wanted to ease salary cap pressure.

Hawthorn: 1.5/10
- No 1st or 2nd round pick. Lost Kennedy and McGlynn for picks they won't use. Buryone is past his best and Gibson is not a KP defender. Still has no capable ruckman on its list.

Melbourne: 9/10
- Got good compensation for a player who no longer wanted to play for the club, 4 picks in first 18 is a great result.

North Melbourne: 7/10
- Got above market value for a player who no longer wanted to be at the club

Port Adelaide: 6.5/10
- Got great compensation for Burgoyne and will have 3 first round picks. No other picks in the draft, added two list cloggers.

St Kilda: 3.5/10
- Added speed to its list in Lovett, and Peake who will add depth in the back half. Did not get deals for Ball and Maguire

Sydney: 9/10
- 2 first round picks to add some quality kids to his lost. Lost Jolly but will replace him with two capable ruckmen in Seaby & Mumford. Added McGlynn and the highly rated Kennedy for pocket change. Big winners in trade week.

Western Bulldogs: 6/10
- Retained Lake, added Hall to (hopefully) address their forward line issues. Could have used 1st/2nd round picks to try and attract another avenue to goal and some Barry Hall insurance

West Coast: 6/10
- Got a great deal for Seaby, WCE/Bris deal was a breakeven. Gained an extra 2nd round pick, yet lost its 3rd. Overall did reasonably well.

Adelaide: Nothing
Brisbane: 6/10, Great get with Fev but too many old s**t players (Staker, Buchanan, Clarke). Think Raines deal was ok
Carlton: 3/10, Didnt need to give pick 27 in Fev deal. Should have got a later pick out of Melbourne.
Collingwood: 7.5/10, Considering they gave 14 for Wood they have done a lot better this time. Jolly will make a big difference.
Essendon: 9/10, Williams will be handy and great draft picks. Nash is a dud and LOvett wanted to go so wins all round for Essendon
Fremantle: 6/10, Fine. not much to say
Geelong: 7/10, Got themselves some ok draft picks because they can only afford kids. Thought they may have offloaded someone else to reduce salaray cap pressure.
Hawthorn: 8/10, Got their men in Burgoyne and Gibson and offloaded players they dont really need. Top 6 at least next year
Melbourne: 6/10, good price for Mclean but really thought they could do with his leadership to build their young midfield
North Melbourne: 8/10, Think 25 for Gibson was enough so to get 41 was very good
Port Adelaide: 6/10, did well for Burgoyne but schulz and Nash are both duds so no need
Richmond:7.5/10, Like the looks of Farmer and got rid of Schulz which was good. Even win on Raines
St Kilda: 5/10, pick 16 too much for Lovett but they want a flag and he will certainly help. Peake is the worst player on any list in the afl so i dont know what they were thinking
Sydney: 7/10, Loss: Seaby for 22, Wins: Buchanan for 28, and Josh Kennedy and Mcglynn for 39, 46 & 70 or something like that
Doggies: 8/10, exactly what they need and paid right price, we'll see how happy they are when he ko's someone in rd 1 next year
Eagles: 8.5/10, Seaby and Staker were gonna leave so to get Dalziell and 22 was a really good result

So :
Winner: Essendon
Loser: Carlton

It seems to be a lot of win/win this year.

Teams who want a tilt at a premiership have gotten players and rebuilding teams got their draft picks.

Voss may become a legend from this draft. Some really ballsy moves in there.

Port Adelaide 7 - Big winners from the Burgoyne trade though their other trades are of questionable value.
Carlton 7 - excellent trading period, won the Fev trade.
West Coast 7 - quiet achievers if Dalziell finds form.

Essendon 6 - got more than what Lovett is worth, otherwise an even performance.
Western Bulldogs 6 - got Hall cheap and held onto Everitt.
North Melbourne 6 - Reasonable return for Gibson, didn't pick up recycled rejects (thankfully).
Melboune 6 - McLean trade was line ball, potentially big winners by the Ball trade failing.
Richmond 6 - Offloaded some average players for picks.

Fremantle 5 - didn't gain a lot, didn't lose a lot.
Sydney 5 - the jury is out, gains may be offset by losses (I rate Jolly).

Adelaide 4 - no trades, I worry about the age demographic of their list.
Collingwood 4 - Jolly was market value but failed with other trades.
Geelong 4 - Losing Mumford is a big loss but upgraded their picks.

Brisbane 3 - the jury is out but I'd say they lost big time.
Hawthorn 3 - Paid over the odds for acquisitions and the JK3 may haunt them.
St Kilda 3 - The big losers of the week if Ball goes into the PSD.

Adelaide: Nothing
Brisbane: 8/10. Getting Fev saved them. Added good roster depth but is Voss overestimating his list?
Carlton: 2/10. Losing Fev is huge and maybe overpaid for Brock. Terrible trade week.
Collingwood: 7/10. Did well getting Jolly. Loss marks for not getting the Ball deal over the line.
Essendon: 5/10. Should've stayed put after the Lovett deal imo. I know you need forwards but M. Williams?
Fremantle: 4/10. Would've expected more in return for Drum.
Geelong: 7/10. Reasonable dealing. Drum might be a surprise, he showed good form towards the end.
Hawthorn: 6/10. Got their guys Burgoyne and Gibson. Don't like giving away depth players for nothing picks.
Melbourne: 8/10. Yep.
North Melbourne: 6/10. Josh Gibson deal is like meh.
Port Adelaide: 9/10. Fantastic return for a star player wanting out.
Richmond: Might as well be nothing.
St Kilda: 8/10. Late 1st rounder for Lovett? Love it.
Sydney: 7/10. A lot of action but very solid overall. Sydney always trade efficiently.
Doggies: 9/10. Grand final winning captain with something to prove next season for a late 3rd rounder? Took advantage of a good opportunity.
Eagles: 7/10. List spots are tight atm, so to get 3 picks inside 23 is a good effort. Not sure about the Dalziell pickup though.

Brisbane, St Kilda, Collingwood and Doggies improve their flag chances.

Carlton the big losers out of trade week.

Adelaide: Nothing

Brisbane: 2/10, Voss was like a kid in a candy store. Stupid trades in Staker, Raines, Clarke and Buchanan - all spuds. Brought in club cancer in Fevola just before things get out of hand with his brownlow night. A disaster.

Carlton: 3/10, Were able to offload Fev but have gone from being a potential contender to complete pretender as a result. Mclean is a plodder.

Collingwood: 5/10, Paid a heavy price for a ruckman - the most overrated position in the game. Were too stubborn to get a deal done for what they actually need - a hard midfielder.

Essendon: 9/10, Williams is an absolute steal, offloaded a spud in Nash and were well compensated for Lovett.

Fremantle: 5/10, Meh. Their list still stinks but no real change.

Geelong: 8/10, Managed to hold onto their premiership side. Disappointed to lose Mumford.

Hawthorn: 7/10, Got the gun they were after and a good defender in Gibson. Offloaded two players outside their best 22 to Sydney - no loss. Didn't get a ruckman but will be right up there next year.

Melbourne: 7/10, Got over the odds for a plodder in Mclean. May get Ball for free in the PSD.

North Melbourne: 6/10, Did ok on the Gibson deal. Couldn't find a trade for Smith.

Port Adelaide: 6/10, Did well on Burgoyne. Nash and Shulz are the pits.

Richmond:5/10, Nothing of note.

St Kilda: 5/10, Lovett will boost our list. Peake will not. Couldn't sort a trade out for Ball.

Sydney: 1/10, Lost Jolly and in typical Sydney salary cap fashion paid big bucks for spuds in Seaby, Mumford, Kennedy and McGlynn - none of whom were in the best 22s of their sides.

Doggies: 8/10, Got BBBBH.

Eagles: 8/10, Dalziel can play. Seaby and Staker can not.

So :
Winner: Essendon
Loser: Sydney, Brisbane, Carlton

Melbourne did a really smart thing getting 11 for Maclean. So they win for mine. Hard to beat four picks inside top 20.

Port robbery of the week.....Burgoyne PFFTTTT, not worth 9 and 16 IMO (and yes seen him play ...... reckon I even watched all four of his GOOD games)

Great to see some action anyway :thumbsu:

Roll on Nov 26th

Seaby wasn't worth a second grader on his own, we got a downgrade of seconder for him and upgrades of other picks...
So he's worth essentially Buchanan, that's all.

CBF doing whole comp but:

BIG WINNERS:

Port: 9/10

Bent Hawthorn over quite simply. Its not everyday a 27 yr old (with injury clouds) who is out of contract attracts two first rounders. Well played.

West Coast: 8.5/10.

Got rid of two players that either wanted to go or would be delisted if not, and snared Dalziell (whom I think seems to be quite underrated). If there were no trades from WC it is conceivable that Staker and Seaby might have been delisted so fantastic effort! Also well placed for draft.

Sydney: 8/10

Paying Mumford a massive salary given he's hardly done the hard yards- but did amazingly well to steal Kennedy (and McGylnn to lesser extent) for next to bugger all. Losing Jolly had to happen unfortunately, but I'll buck the trend here and say that acquiring Kennedy has made all this worthwhile.

LOSERS:

Hawthorn: 4/10

This is questionable. Seemed to have paid over the odds for Burgers, however their best 22 is now looking VERY sharp. Lost their next extractor in Kennedy, which will be a huge blow long term. If they stay injury free then they're looking really good for 2010, however their failure to snare another ruckman and their loss of two very solid depth players will hurt should a few boys go down with injury as they invariably do.

Brisbane: 3.5/10

Tough one Brissy. Their starting 22 is looking pretty good provided Fevola's baggage doesn't keep him out of play. But traded for some absolute spuds at first glance. Too hard to judge this- will have to wait till end of next year. Giving it a low mark early but Vossy must see something in the boys he's taken that noone else does!

Essendon 9/10 - Pick 16 for Lovett was a great get. Via that pick, it ended up being Lovett for Williams + #24 ... superb work. Worth the downgrade of #33 -> #42 to get rid of Nash.
Port Adelaide 8/10 - Won the Burgoyne trade, would've looked better if they didn't pick up those two spuds. Now in a very strong drafting position.

Sydney Swans 7/10 - Clever trading
Western Bulldogs 7/10 - It's not as if Sydney were entitled to ask for much more but Hall is a bargain
West Coast 7/10 - Decent compensation for players they didn't need
Geelong 7/10 - Interesting involvement in the Burgoyne trade but they did very well out of it
Carlton 7/10 - I liked the Fev trade ... masses that are whinging via the media obviously haven't seen/heard much about Henderson and assumed he's just a nobody. He will be a very good player and I'm sure lions fans are disappointed with his loss.
North Melbourne 7/10 - Pick 25 was enough for Gibson, #41 is just a bonus

Melbourne
6/10 - Decent compensation for McLean
Collingwood 6/10 - Fair for both parties in their trade
Richmond 6/10 - Managed to get rid of some very average players
Fremantle 6/10 - Same as Richmond

Brisbane 5/10 - I'd say lost too much for Fevola. As for their other pickups, Raines/Clarke/Staker ... meh, I'd have just taken the punt on some kids. Buchanan could be a handy pickup though.
St Kilda 4/10 - Peake is just s**t. No way Lovett is worth #16.
Hawthorn 2/10 - Gave up too much for Burgoyne. Gained little from the McGlynn/Kennedy trades.

Funny how some people are panning us and others are applauding us.

We'll see next year, but if Burgoyne gets back to 100% fitness, he'll be fantastic to watch in tandem with Bateman, Sewell, Hodge and Mitchell.

Hawks is hardest to rate. Looks a bit ugly at first glance, but as I said before if they stay injury free your best 22 has definitely improved. I just really rate kennedy and think thats a bad loss. Not much you could do about it though.

To be honest - with so many player for player trades going on - it'd bloody hard to work out who did well or not.

Take for example - Dalziell for Staker

Who won that?

Assuming we only need 3 draft picks - i reckon we have done alright in compacting out picks into the first 25.

Would like to have snagged Richmond's pick 19 though

1-3 POOR
4-6 AVE
7-8 GOOD
9-10 EXCELLENT

ADEL no score.....no play

BRIS 9/10...... All players drafted will be in lions best 25 or so. aqcuired the best forward combination of the modern era. the loss of Henderson, pick 12, dalziell may be detrimental in years to come.

CARL 7/10.... with fev could have really challenged next year. although Henderson is a very good pick up. Mclean was also pretty fair

COLL 7/10...... needed to trade a player to get ball also. Jolly should prove to be a good addition.

FRE 4/10........ Peake is better then that. should have gone for a pick much closer to 40

ESS 9/10...........4 picks inside 33, and williams

GEEL 7/10........ Drum should play a role and will be good for years to come. 33 upgrade to 28 may also be important.

HAW 7/10 ......burgoyne and gibson should be good for them and will give them a tilt at the premeirship in 2010,2011. first pick coming at 39.

MELB 7/10 ....... Mclean a massive lose and very dissapionting but 11 was fair. still hope for ball

NMEL 8/10......... 5, 21, 25, 37, 41 should set them up well

PADE 9/10......... 8, 9, 16 is fantastic! Nash and Shulz may also be role players

RICH 7/10 ......... raines may be a big loss but pick 44 is handy

STK 7/10.......... got a bit of pace and talent which will be a big addition next season. no good picks!!

SYD 8.5/10........ Kennedy, McGlynn, Mumford, Seaby and 2 picks within 14! good job!

WCE 8.5/10......... Dalziell and 3 picks inside 23. good for the eagles development

WBUL 7/10.......... fair deal. Looking fwd to seein BAZ get back!

WINNERS

BRIS, ESS, PA, SYD, WCE........ and MUMFORD!

LOSERS

FRE,

??

Ball may also make stk lose out!
