In light of the cap dramas surrounding the Storm, which Brisbane player will leave the Lions because they have a smaller "official" salary cap?

Surely there will be an exodus of players because they no longer have a living allowance to keep their interstate recruits.

Lions, Swans lose location allowances
Next season Brisbane and Sydney are allowed to go $480,000 over the salary cap to stop players returning to their home states, with that figure dropping to $360,000 in 2006.

But Mr Demetriou said the Lions' success was not an issue in their decision.

Brisbane, however, were less impressed. Lions chairman Graeme Downie said the loss of the location allowance would disadvantage both clubs. "Because of the large number of players from outside Queensland, we are two to three times more likely to lose players to the 'go-home' factor than most of the Victorian clubs," he said.

Lions lash salary cap grumblers
Bowers claimed the three clubs received "free kicks" in the scheduling of blockbuster matches and said the push to level the salary caps was against the best interests of the game.

"I don't think Collingwood, Carlton or Essendon will be happy until they have world domination," he stormed.

"We're trying to fight for the forces of good against evil to make sure that doesn't happen.

"They want fairness and equity in one area where it suits them, and they want unfairness and exploitation in other areas. You have to wonder about the agenda they're running - it's really fuelled by self interest."

If another three to four senior players don't leave, then questions need to be asked about the validity of their three premierships and runners up.

Clearly brennan will need to get some compensation for his flair and will want to head home to play for the Darwin Dreamteam.

The Lions haven't had any concessions since 2006. The articles quoted are from 2004. Hello?

No room for Buckley or Jarman in the thread title either? Interesting that.

Plus, I can see 2 or 3 Queenslanders in that list of "interstate" players.

Just your regulation General fail thread.

Epic fail from yet another Carlton Flog. Bit uneasy with all the talk of salary cap problems are we flogs.

Reeks of deflection doesn't it.

If any AFL team is comparable to Melbourne Storm, it would be the team that systematically and illegally concealed payments to players. That would be the Carlton FC.

Marc Murphy agrees.

You still sore after that one? No wonder Henderson leaving hurt TheBrownNote so bad. The only player who's chosen your rabble over Carlton is a gambling addict, gives a bit of credibility to TheGeneral's claim actually.
