Being a rich club has nothing to do with free agency. You still have the same salary cap as the poor clubs.
Finishing 11th, having terrible training facilities, a weapon and a Reimers will really hurt you this year attracting quality players.

WE WANT YOU!!!!

Wow that "rich" comment really hit a nerve...

Being a rich club has everything to do with Free Agency...We have more to offer the players outside of the salary cap, the more money we have the more resources we have to offer players.

Plus early next year we will have the best facilities in the comp, the weapon will have a fraction of the influence he had this year (if any) and most likely Reimers will be playing for another club.

So even before season 2013 starts your argument is void.

When was the last time a club traded a known good player by choice? Was it Kennedy? Moloney in the Ottens deal was another.

People always float up players in trade week but the reality is that clubs just don't let good players go unless forced or by mistake.

No way Carlise will be traded nor will Nathan Brown. Doesnt matter if they are getting something good in return, clubs just don't trade good players.

Spot on, but I wonder if this will change now that free agency is a reality? If clubs are shrewd enough to poach good players from other clubs, they have to expect to lose some good players as well, whether by trade or FA

Hit a nerve? Settle pony boy.

Please tell me what you have to offer outside of the salary cap? The AFL has not squashed future 3rd party deals - and these resources you can offer? Do they include the Weapon? 2 football ovals to train on? Close proximity to the airport? Access to Reimers tattoo guy? Hungry jack/cab charge vouchers? Jetta's acting school? David Hille?

Lets review after the trade period and see if the rich teams dominate. My tip is you may be in for a surprise.

Nice - so that explains why Hooker was put up for trade.

There's that nerve again.

Look at Port Adelaide...Primus openly stated that they barely have enough resources to keep the club functioning properly and this run right through the club.

Pony boy?

Don't like it. Adelaide get screwed big time if there isn't something added on top of that. Collingwood would be gooses to trade Brown with Tarrant retiring, Cloke going possibly, Keefe returning from knee and you don't know what you're gonna get from Dawes!! GS would be happy though.

I think it's actually the pies that get screwed in this scenario.

Adelaide would gain a 23 year old premiership FB who has proven in many finals he has what it takes when it counts and has had an underrated year imo.
Has just come off 2 years of knee injuries and slotted back in at fb for a top 4 side and hasn't had more then 4 kicked on him in his 'bad' games, Brown will only get better from next season.

Tippett is very overrated and inconsistent sure he has his games but they are few and far between.

Pies would need more then Caddy, a unproven 20 year old who has promise.

Well I suppose cheating is one way to go....

sounds like he hit a nerve. Otherwise you wouldn't be posting Bay 13 crap in a trade thread, surely?

1 team is no shape to get players via FA. But there are 17 others that can.

You really are sensitive - relax Lance you can have a bit of fun on Big Footy.

It was a crap comment and got the response it deserved.

Since we are based in Qld, block busters at the MCG would be difficult
correct. Hence my point.

Do you think the guaranteed opportunity to play at the home of football in front of 70-80,000 fans at least half a dozen times a year is attractive to some players? I do.
