I think there's almost zero chance he walks, more so we wouldn't let it happen. Probably next captain of this footy club.

Picjs 5 and 6 plus Griffin and Wallace! IN other words he is going no where.
lol Judd arguably top 5 player of the last decade barely fetched picks 5 and 6 in value at the time.

Pick 3, Kennedy (pick 4) and pick 20. In reality, he fetched more than picks 5 and 6. If Kennedy is Judd, then to trade him, you'd need a top five pick, a top five draft pick quality player and a early second round pick. Sounds about right. If Sydney got offered picks 3, 20 and Sam Day, they may consider it. I have a feeling though that they'd probably still turn it down.

The Kennedy trade is weird. I know Richmond have made some pretty dumb calls, but Kennedy and McGlynn for picks 39, 46 and 70? Even at the time I thought it was generous. All that and they still had the nerve to beat you. Ah well.

WRONG! Judd requested a trade and went for picks 3 and 20 plus Kennedy who went in the 2005 draft at 4. You missed the point anyway mate I was making the point that the Dogs would never trade that many picks and players hence the trade would never happen.

Kennedy struggled at AFL level in 2006 and did not set the world on fire in the VFL, at the time you could say his value depreciated.

Firstly, he was still young. Secondly, he was packaged with McGlynn who showed promise early on. I just think giving away two young players for effectively a packet of crisps was a silly move, at the time and in hindsight.

Cmon, 39 and 46 are hardly packet of chips picks, McGlynn had many players ahead of him in the Hawks side, and Kennedy was an unproven youngster who had questionable disposal (think Brad Dalziel) , but had a strong inside game.

Oh, well then I disagree. Kennedy was a second year KPP, of course he was going to take time. The eagles to their credit saw past that and saw that he was a talented KPF and a very high draft pick. In reality, Judd required pick 3, a player worth pick 4 and pick 20. That's substantial and more than picks 5 and 6.

Eh, they're little more. The likelihood that you'll get something out of those picks is very small, especially as both players had shown something at afl level. All I'm saying is that the hawks may have pulled the trigger to early, and probably went very easy to the swans in trading week.

If this tells us anything, it's that possibly, clubs should be more cautious about pulling the plug on young kids. Again, the chances that the hawks were going to get something better from two 3rd round picks and a 5th round pick (the effective equivalent of some oldm blunt and rusty steak knives) are quite small.

I'd offer our pick 15, our compo pick and a good player. Maybe one of Guthrie or Smedts.

Make it ghs.

Would seriously do it.

15, Compo & Horlin-Smith for Kennedy is offering a hell of a lot but would fix our clearance problem immediately and you'd have to say we'd be premeirship contenders if we managed to somehow get a decent ruckmen.

Exactly why we wouldn't do it ;) but that sounds about the mark if not a top ten and good player in my books

Eh?

He fetched pick 3, Kennedy who was pick 4 and pick 20. A fair bit more than "barely picks 5+6". BTW this was after Judd had nominated a club and was carrying a serious injury (OP).

If Kennedy did the right thing and went on the open market he would be worth similar.

irrespective pick 3 (griffen), pick 14 wallis (he was actually rated higher due to F/S) + pick 5 and 6 is way overs for Kennedy which was the original post, I'd be loath to part both picks 5 and 6 for him should the case arise.

McGlynn was out of contract and had said he was going to the draft if not traded to Sydney. The club had absolutely no say in him leaving.
