Essendon FC + ONE other PLAYER at ONE OTHER club being investigated RE: Doping

Oh I'm sorry have the ASADA and the ACC said that they were investigating Essendon prior to us asking the ASADA to?
Do you honestly believe that the first time the ASADA & the ACC knew about Essendon was when they turned themselves in?

They have been uncovering this over the last year and Dank/Robinson have been highly scrutinised as had been divulged publicly already.

Essendon dobbed themselves in as a PR exercise and to get brownie points for when the sanctions are decided.

You know Andy D has already basically debunked the theory that Essendon were in the report yeah?

But hey keep throwing out the conspiracies. I'll keep waiting for facts.

The Federal police were investigating Dank, but obviously waiting is the best option.

EDIT: That sounded kind of sarcastic, which wasn't intentional.

Oh and lol at you all banging on about WADA. Vlad is only cowering if Essendon are guilty. Which uh guys? Hasn't been proven yet.

You sound like you have been following the whole saga very carefully, if you were to have an educated guess, in one word would you guess guilty or innocent?... no but, but's.

But did not Gillion McLachlan in the press conference say it was Essendon?

Well no. He said Essendon was under investigation.

Which again we knew because the club asked for it.

If you can find one quote where he said the club was the club named in the report or that Essendon were under investigation before they asked for it I'll shut up.

Poor thing...

The AFL will make every effort to help EFC find a scapegoat - anything to avoid all those players being rubbed out from the same club.

Exactly, the players will say they weren't aware what they were taking was illegal or on the WADA ban list, AFL Will give'm a slap on the wrist for being ignorant & all ends well.

"Asked then if Essendon was the club McLachlan had referred to when mentioning "multiple players", the deputy chief said "yeah"."

Fair to say you'll be quiet now;)

I heard the long version of the interview on SEN. McLachlan confirmed that the club was Essendon and that no other club was being investigated by ASADA.

reading between the lines:

A few dodgy performance consultants have infiltrated the NRL. They have put the players on programs that go right to the boundary of legal, and given peptides are hard to trace, they might have put whole playing groups on it. i.e. systematic doping of whole clubs.

ASADA and then the ACC have been investigating this for 12 months or so and it just happened that Hanks or whatever his name is was now at Essendon. So they investigated that too because he's a dodgy kent. Essendon got wind of the issue and then learnt a story would break so got on the front footy.

The individual is probably an unrelated case and he probably got picked up through standard testing.

That's what I'm thinking.
+1
also this is what happens when politicians get involved in sport

Essendon is going through the darkest period in their history and you are arguing about semantics. It does not matter if the club asked for it or if they were named in the report... Essendon is in deep s#!t.

Not if WADA is involved. Vlad will cower in the corner aka The Blair Witch Project while WADA gets down to business.

Rubbish..Vlad is working very hard in 'back room deals' to minimize the damage to Essendon and the AFL.
Vlad is a master at using his broom.

Apples to oranges. Contador was in cycling which was well known for doping and team doctors would dope. He would have known. Contador cheated.

Not sure if that is what happened at Essendon. Imagine you're a new recruit. You get drafted by Essendon, one of the biggest clubs in the country. They are a rich club. Great facilities, great resources in the way of coaching staff, medical staff etc. You go to training and a club fitness guy says "inject this supplement, it is fine and within the rules". Are you going to question it? Do you really think the performance guy involved told them it might be over the line? it's not as if he was at his local gym and the local juice dealer offered him some juice and he took it.

He was within his club (** assuming this is the case). He is within reason to expect the EFC are providing him the legal substances.

let me tell you, if this is how it went down and players get banned, the EFC will get their arses sued off. Forget this "but you have the ultimate responsibility" bullshit. That is relevant to ASADA and they can ban, but legally, the EFC will get their arses sued off.

I'm not that the club should get a pass , in fact I believe that they will be sued by he affected player, but the players will cop a whack. Somewhere between twelve months and two years,

The afl will plead for leniency but the current environment wont allow for that. Knowingly or not they were on the juice, and dare I say betting agency's and punters will also have a class action available to them, can you imagine a punter losing his shirt on. A game involving systematic and club endorsed cheating on this scale

Lance Armstrong's team mates got a 75% reduction of their two year bans for their cooperation. These were people knowingly involved in systematic doping over many years - if the EFC players can demonstrate that they were unwitting dopers and a scapegoat can be sacrificed then they may get away with a suspended sentence rather than a suspensiom!

Good luck with that given they signed consent/waiver forms what ever you want to call them, they were told hey were close to he edge, the players should have got further advice but they didn't, the lure of a flag was obviously too much
