Just seeing Brent Guerra injure his knee reminded me of something I've thought for a while - footy players could do well to play a bit of basketball in their off time, if only to get their bodies more used to landing after jumping and rapid changes of direction. The number of times footy players that injure their knees and ankles landing on the ground or making standard basic changes of direction is alarmingly high, and such landings and movement are made hundreds of times per game in basketball without a second thought, and without nearly the same rate of injury either. You can say it's just bad luck, but I think it may have a bit to do with their bodies not being used to such movements, because they're not as common in footy as they are in sports such as basketball.

A lot of clubs ban there players from playing basketball just in case they do a knee or ankle lol
