Nothing more to be said really

I reckon that is hilarious.

No problem with Duffields article highlighting the good and the drop off. The sub-editor responsible for the heading, however, should be taken out and shot.

SEN now: Kevin Bartlett and Dr. Turf saying that Zac Smith isn't really a long term replacement for Sandilands. And that Sandi will only be back for a week before he breaks down again..haha..

Earlier this morning Robert Walls being totally derogatory and offensive about Zac Dawson.

Did they say Zac Smith instead of Clarke? LOL KB is one of the worst talkback hosts on SEN. Love listening to all the others like Harf, OX, Robbo and Dermie whenever they are on.

Caro had a red hot go at KB about his conflict of interest as a broadcaster and member of the rules committee, and she was spot on.

WAFL
Andrew Embley had 28 possessions for Swan Districts in a 20-point loss to East Perth.

Blayne Wilson played well for East Perth in a tagging role and looks likely to be considered to make his debut for the Eagles.

Small forward Ashton Hams was a livewire for South Fremantle kicking three goals against Peel Thunder.

Man I wish we had some players in the WAFL. :)

It's all due to change next year. :p

This is my 7th year since banning that paper. Not one cent of my money have they received.
It is the only form of protest.

I haven't bought a local paper since the NicNat text headline. Even before that I very rarely bought either of them, but now it's an actual principle I stick to.

After seeing that shit above I feel even more justified.

To put it in perspective, Melbourne has been the league's punching bag this season yet we just handed them their third biggest loss of the season. Off the hook indeed.

And we only beat them by four points less than the eagles did, after they embarrassingly matched the premiership favourites (lol) for half the game. I wonder what the headlines said then?

Whilst I wouldn't say we were sloppy, we did miss a lot of easy goals, 3 within 20m in the 3rd qtr from memory. Mark Duffield has been good to us over the years and doesn't write the headline.

Still average considering the 15 goal differential.

I am pretty sure one of the Fox dudes called Ballantyne, "Ballanstein", yesterday. I thought this was inadvertently an act of genius. Can just see him now with a couple of photoshopped bolts in neck, skin a shade of green of guernseys past.

It’s not so much that the average West or online sports writer in Perth is biased against Fremantle (I’m sure some are, but it would be a minority); it’s more about their starting assumptions. They are used to thinking of Freo as underachieving flakes and thus everything we do is filtered through this preconception. That is how:
a) Our game gets reported as us ‘letting the Dees of the hook’ (even if the subby was responsible for the headline, the article itself did lead in that direction, just not as explicitly). The WC game went broadly the same way. They looked like they were going to score 180 200 for the game and win by 130 at HT, instead they faded in the third (WC won the quarter by 3 points as opposed to our 2 point loss) before rounding the game out satisfactorily in the last.
b) They all think we have a chip on our shoulder about it (bias). It’s not really their conscious bias we are railing against, but their patronizing assumptions.
Short of locking them in a room for extensive lectures on deductive logic and human psychology I don’t see what we can do about it..

Ditto for me, the West is a waste of dough.

As I've said before, it aint even useful in the thunderbox ................... Sorbent is softer !!!!.

Send them strongly worded emails?
Dear Sir / Madam

I would like to express my outrage at the headline in todays edition of the footy liftout. I was so appalled my monocle slipped off my nose in agitation and into my cup of lapsang souchong...

Stop buying it; trust me you'll feel much better for it.

the best articles about our club are published in the age... and that's saying something. Why bother with the news if we get everything first hand through here?

I knew you guys would be whinging about that article headline. To put some perspective on it, on the back page of paper was the largest headline "To the top 4, Dockers on the rise after pummelling hapless Melbourne". That was the back page of the paper.
Inside was a more discerning critique of our continued inability to play 4 quarters of football and in particular our poor 3rd quarters. It said we were disappointing in the second half after a scintillating 1st half. It was true and well written.
Get over it. We are getting respect because we are playing good footy but we aren't immune to criticism.
