Has already said he is leaving Fulham but wants to stay in Europe somewhere

Tis a bit of a shame really - he is still a top keeper and has given great service to Fulham. Hopefully, at 40 years old, he will still be given a gig in the top flight in Europe.

He wants regular first team football in a world cup year and Fulham couldn't guarantee him that (and rightfully so).

Honestly reckon he'd be a perfect fit with us. Wants to stay in England, in the Premier League, only has a year or so left at his best. We're probably the only Premier League club that fits the bill. Could play most of the year with Schmeicel/McGregor as his understudy with the aim to them taking over the following season full-time.
Schmeichel won't end up with Hull. Loves it in Leicester and has said he isn't interested. Agree that Schwarzer would be good for Hull for a year or two.

We didn't.

What do you think City paid for him and what source are you using? The official Shakhtar Donetsk website is saying €40m and I'm inclined to believe them, I can't see any reason why they would lie.

It's a hell of a lot of money for a defensive midfielder (particularly considering he's 28 years old and only been capped 5 times in his career for the Brazilian national team) but if he and whatever other players City sign this summer bring you the title or CL then who cares really?

His Dad is pretty keen for him to go. And money talks. And Premier League football. And Leicester need to trim their budget...

Money talks to who? He is on a fortune at Leicester and we have no reason to sell him. Our budget will be trimmed by getting rid of fringe players on massive wages like beckford, gallagher etc. He loves the club, is on excellent coin and we dont need to sell. Won't happen.

Hmm we'll see. Honestly I'd be just as happy with Schwarzer and McGregor or even Bolat. Schwarzer and Bolat would both be frees, which would give us more coin to throw at a striker.

Considering the price you'd have to pay for schmeichel I'm more than happy for you to take him off our hands. While he is an above average keeper, at least one of two goalkicks end up over the other goal line for an opposition goal kick. Distribution isn't great. I'd prefer to keep him but am comfortable we could get someone else in just as good.

Oh so as soon as I say we might look elsewhere cheaper you're suddenly happy for us to take him. ;)

I'm not sure you want much cheaper if you plan on making this year more than a holiday ;)

Apparently Wayne Bridge has signed a one year contract with Reading. Allegedly almost the last straw for Redknapp as he desperately wanted him but was overruled by someone at QPR. Mentioned he is just about ready to walk.

Schwarzer with McGregor as back up would be cheaper and would suit us fine for next season, before looking to strengthen on Schwarzer's retirement/release.

Yeah, seems like crap. Do you know what the final figure is?

Being reported as a £30m deal with (as you have mentioned) Fernandinho foregoing a £4m loyalty bonus to get the deal done. Although from the looks of it all the stories are coming from the same source (Telegraph).

I suspect it will come out in the next few days that we've paid low £20m's with bonuses and add-ons to come.

Shaktar have an interest in saying they got a great deal, he had a buyout of £42m and they don't want to be seen as a soft touch. But if they're including loyalty bonuses which have been foregone (ie we didn't pay them a penny) I'd say their figure includes things like paying out wages owed over the rest of the contract, which he would have forgone as well (obviously because we'll be paying him).

Walking over not being able to buy Wayne Bridge.

How undignified.

Seems like he is blowing it out of the water because he doesnt actually want to manage in the championship. It's how I'm reading it anyway

What's the point then? May as well get someone in long term rather than for a year. You have the cash etc. If you get relegated with Schwarzer there will be a genuine issue with looking to strengthen that position as anyone of premier league quality will no longer go there.

I've seen non of Fernandinho, what kind of player is he?

That's the point. We don't have the cash, which would be better spent elsewhere. If we can get one good year out of Schwarzer, we can use the money we get next year for staying up to buy a long term keeper. Also in a year's time Mannone is out of contract and has expressed for a while now an interest in joining us.

From what I've read, most Dutch fans don't understand how Utd can be interested in Strootman while Fellaini is available.
Maybe our manager has seen more of Strootman...oh, wait!

Of course you have the cash. Youve already made 2 bids for schmeichel in the millions so it's obviously there. If you're relying on Mannone you really are in trouble. There is so much better out there than that.
