Everyone should know that the most superior martial artists are the ones that train UFC, bro.
I can't remember who it was, but I was looking at the Wiki bio for a fighter a week or 2 ago, and they had a rank of 'black belt' in MMA, although it was under some guy's developed name for a fighting system, I did lol.

One of the funniest things about the early UFCs were the funny names for martial arts, like pitfighting, trap fighting, SAFTA, the list goes on. And even the guys like Goodridge and Kimo who were given ranks without the credentials.

Though Goodridge certainly picked up some good stuff in his training session or two before UFC 8:

You mean Gary Goodridge - the World arm wrestling champion? :D

There were a run of 7th, 8th & 9th degree blackbelt old geezers in their gi's coming through in those days I remember. Most of those titles were later determined to be bogus.

A featherweight bout between TUF 5 alumni Cole Miller and Manny Gamburyan has been scheduled for the fight card of UFC on FOX Sports 1.

UFC officials confirmed featherweights Darren Elkins vs. Hatsu Hioki and bantamweights Erik Perez vs. Takeya Mizugaki are set to meet at the August 28 event, which takes place at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana. (UFC on Fox Sport 1: 2).

Cat interview. Injured herself doing squat jumps over hurdles, a freak accident. Initially thought it would be McMann replacing her. She'll get her title shot when she heals up.

GSP vs. Hendricks in November in Vegas most likely.

Josh Thomson is an idiot.

Jones vs. Gustafsson is 165 main event, September 21.

Cain vs. JDS 3 will probably be in Houston in October.

Sweet some good main cards coming up then. And it looks like Jones v Silva COULD happen for the Dec 30 card in Vegas. I sort of don't want it to because my brothers are going over for that card, if they get to see that live I'll be ****ing pissed off ha ha!

Dana/Ariel interview. States Jones picked Gus over Machida because he 'annihilated Machida'.

3 month turn around for Jones is a big ask to fight the pound for pound greatest.

This whole thing with Bigfoot and Thiago Silva has been so weird. At first Bigfoot says to fight him at heavyweight. Thiago Silva says no to that, but says that he'll fight Bigfoot at LHW. Bigfoot then says he'll check with doctors to see if he can healthily make 205 pounds (no way that's happening). Now a 220 pound catchweight fight's being talked about. I don't think there's any way Bigfoot's going to be able to get down to that weight either.

Pettis' coach Duke Roufus told MMAFighting.com on Friday that Pettis "popped his knee" while training in Brazil this week. Pettis was in Brazil to promote his UFC 163 title fight against Jose Aldo.

When he flew back to Milwaukee, Pettis was still complaining about the knee, so he went to get MRI. That confirmed his worst fears: Torn meniscus. Four-to-six weeks of rehab needed.

The good news for Pettis is he will not require surgery, however, Roufus said another one of his fighters, Erik Koch, suffered a similar knee injury last year and he needed more than four-to-six weeks to get healthy.

"He's very distraught," Roufus said. "Anthony is a very resilient man. He just wants to regroup right now. What can you do? You can dwell on the negative or figure out a way to past this and get better."

Roufus said Pettis "begged" White to keep him on the card. He tried to convince his coach that he only needed three serious weeks to train for the fight, but the UFC didn't want to take that risk, for Pettis' sake.

"[The UFC] said, 'No, you got to be healthy,'" Roufus said. "I'm glad they're looking out for his best interests, too."

So disappointing.

At least Aldo gets his wish because now Pettis isn't 'cutting in line' . I don't think TKZ is much of a chance TBH.

Jon Fitch gets choked to sleep in 41 seconds in his WSOF debut against Josh Burkman. Steve Mazzagatti didnt stop the fight either. Hopefully we can get a video to post soon, but it wasn't the best work by a ref.

Check the WSOF thread, I posted 2x .gifs and the video.

Edit: I'll repost it here too.
