I'd be happy to pick up if we were to pay unders but wouldnt want to pay market value for him. He will be a very good player, quick and decent skills.

Only problem is he is pretty much a Shep clone but a little better. Not sure who else he could replace. Wouldnt want to give anything of worth up to get just a slight upgrade on Shep and then have Shep sitting out

Surely you'd do Brown for Conca, Conca was ripping it up down here before injury. Watch him the next few weeks, strong, and great possession. Way more upside then Brown, not that Rich need a a key defender (Rance permitting)

I think 95% of us would, it would be Richmond that wouldn't...

Even a 3-way trade with the Saints, the Eagles would need to throw something else in to get the deal done, and it's whether we need Conca or would rather take our chances with a high draft pick in this year's draft.

Delist/Outs
Embley - Time is up
Nicoski - Body is shot
A Selwood - Time is up
Dick - Body is shot
Morton - Not a great player.

Trade Smith = Pick 40 - Too many medium defenders and he seems down the pecking order.

Draft
first round Pick 9-11
second round Pick 26-28
third round pick 40 (from smith)
third round Pick 45

fourth round 60-65

Fifth round Upgrade the governator

I think we need a lot of turnover and pretty fast. We have a lot of deadwood.

2014 Possible Outs, Glass, cox, kerr, hams, dalziell, butler, Mcginnity.

I agree about a reasonable-sized turnaround, but i'd like to see the three bolded players play on for another year. Could replace with Embers, Nico, and A.Sel (as much as I want to see Embers and Nico play on for another year form and injuries permitting).

I do like the sounds of a threesome

If we landed pick 22 for Brown id keep it.

I like Conca, but he was always a reach at pick 6 and he isn't the type of midfielder we need.

I dunno, Brown could be quite a good CHB in my opinion.

Needs an extended run of AFL games and NO INJURIES for once, and he'll be right.

Wouldn't want to lose Brown for anything less than a first round pick.

How long until Lycett starts playing in the ruck full-time?

He really needs to become a ruckman-forward like Mike Pyke rather than a forward-ruckman like Tippett, as I can't see him ever being good enough as a permanent forward.

If he can ruck for 40% of a game it'll allow NN to go mental in the ruck without worrying about conserving energy and then provide a threat up forward for a third of the match.

Will Paul Johnson move to another club perhaps?

He's rucked around 43-40 percent on the weekend and was actually very good in the ruck, Eyres had the strength to go with Johnson but didn't have the height to go with Lycett.

It will be interesting to see what happens next year with Sinclair moving to East Perth next year. Same goe for McInnes and McGovern (if he's with us) lining up along side Smith.

What are people's thoughts on Leroy Jetta playing for the eagles next year ?

Not me. I would rather we keep Mitch.

Why? Our back 6 at its best atm doesn't include him and we lack quality mids?
I think Brown has shown some quality signs this year and I would assume royalsfan would rather keep for insurance in the post Glass era

Ok so that's a no so far lol but he would be good depth in my opinion and has met with the club in the last couple of days so watch this space :)

All jokes aside he wouldn't be the worst player on our list right now but nor would he be best 22

not a player movement, but what do people think woosha will do? the reports i'm reading are that we are prepared to re-sign him if he wants, but he hasn't committed.

i kinda get the sense looking at him this year that he doesn't feel like he has much more to give. it's hard to tell though as he has never been one to give much away in public. it's been a frustrating year, and i would say woosha had big expectations pre-season (even though anyway with even limited football knowledge should have been concerned about our midfield) and is probably just a bit flat realising that for those ambitions to be met is gonna require a huge turnaround.

i'm not exactly sure how i feel. on one hand i recognise that we lifted ourselves off the floor after 2010 and a lot of that was on the back of a woosha implementing an excellent forward press. and he's obviously been a warrior of the club for a long long long time. on the other hand, 12 years is a long time. not many people (in any sport, not just aussie rules) stay at the helm for that long and manage to keep things fresh and dynamic. i dont think it's possible to tell without being in the inner sanctum whether the mediocrity this year is a coaching thing or a playing thing.

my feeling is that if we play finals this year he'll go around for another two years because he'll feel that he can still get something out of this playing group. if we miss finals i think he'll feel that he has given it everything.

from an outsiders perspective it would be quite interesting to see how it plays out. it might not be too much fun from a fans perspective, depending on how the back half of this season goes.

When Glass retires do we expect Schofield to become the second key tall? Who then takes his position as third tall?

Brown is clearly a required player in our succession planning IMO.
