The thing that makes me chuckle...
*Essendon are saying its not performance enhancing. Then why would they be injecting it into the players stomachs - just for a bit of fun? To pass the time? To see how the boys cope with some nausea? Ridiculous.

So you're saying that Hird was part of this so called "rogue element"?Do you believe everything you read? I firmly believe it was a rogue element within the club namely Dank and another. If you employ a biochemist to do a job and he says take this, would you question it?
I sat through the first 20 mins of the Couch to listen to our whacks and then saw who was coming up and watched Mad Men.
Prolly should have hung around...
lets see how that defence works out for youPretty good thanks, as far as I know there is still no penalty handed down yet. So how are you numnuts? The Jobe admission is nothing new as Essendon admitted using that drug ages ago. The same time they also said they had a good reason to believe it was legitimate use at the time.
I also don't think anyone can blame jobe for taking it when he was told by medical staff of a professional organisation that it was legal. That goes for all the players.
There are plenty of legal drugs with fancier names than that

Teffy was talking about *Essendon.Reminder: the thread is about Essendon.
And now they are trying to dance their way around this legally, arguing around the status of AOD and it's use in food and topical creams etc. The club needs to man up and accept that in dancing too close to the edge that they stepped over. They can deflect and avoid the little blows the media and public throw at them all they want, but the war hammer of WADA/ASADA is coming for them and is going to smash them into little pieces. Accept the wrong doing, acknowledge the culture that got them to this point in the first place and change it. No protecting those who were the brains behind the operation. They should be looking out for those most placed at risk, the players, and advising them to fess up in the hope that they cop the minimum. It just seems to me that Dank, Hird and *Essendon were about 3 - 4 months behind WADA rule changes when they entered into this little game of Russian roulette. They thought they were the smartest people in the room. They were wrong. They thought they were circumventing the rules, and pushing the limits. They didn't realise the loopholes had been closed. This is not a case of bad timing or innocent victims. They tried to beat the system and weasel around the ban on performance enhancing supplements. They tried to cheat legally and they got caught by new rules. Dank was not a rogue element within the club. He was operating according to the clearly stated club objectives - whatever it takes.
Has Santa been linked to Christmas?Had Dank ever been linked to anything dodgy before *Essendon?
