Seemed like a very small bump and they subbed Watson off in seconds, only a few minutes into the game.

This might seem farfetched but is it possible that the AFL tapped Watson on the shoulder and suggested it would be best if he didn't play until the end of certain investigations? We all know how Essendon like to handle things 'their way' so they faked an injury at the first opportunity and will have Watson on the sidelines until things have cleared up. No questions, no admitting doing anything wrong.

Maybe not. Makes you think though.

I'm at work so can't watch the game and didn't see the incident but I have to admit this was my first thought after reading this thread. Was is staged??
It's pretty sad jumping to such conclusion but unfortunately what would one expect?

FFS keep it to the game.

How hypocritical are the Bomber supporters booing Westhoff and Monfties?
I didn't see it but from what I'm told it was a fair bump and just an unfortunate accident that happens in contact sports.

Here in lies the truth my friends

Bull-effin shit and you know it, that was a clear charge to hurt Watson and dog act.

It's not a game of netball.

Matty Lloyd would call it making a statement. Except Westhoff's was a legal hit.
