Hey! I'm not accusing umpires of cheating... They're allowed to get caught up in the moment when the home crowd is at fever pitch. I'll excuse them this time but they better be looking after my magpies come finals...
Umps seem to have turned against McRae's boys lately. We'll see whether that continues or they're saving it up for finals.

That was a bizarre game.

Props to Port for turning up, and turning it on a bit, and showing their g and d, to win a game coming from 3 goals down. They persisted till the end and, in the end, proved to be a better skilled team as well. Well done.

The Suns must be thinking they've experienced an acid trip: mad umpiring decisions, dream like contradictions in logic and reason, whistles going off randomly, relentlessly kicking to the wrong places, complete lack of cohesion and communication, unrewarded smacks to the head and arm chopping. I swore for a time it was the 1830s and the pommy police were coming down on the locals just for existing.

I hope that all the Suns calamities came out in this one game, they can forget about it completely, expel it from their memories, and move on to the next game. Like a virus they need to quarantine out all remnants of this game so as it cannot infect their next match. Which they must win.

I am aware that pretty much every Suns fan will be talking about the umpiring after that one. They were unusually hot on frees in the marking contest for most of the game but Long was crunched twice in the fourth going for a mark and the whistles stayed quiet. That felt inconsistent. There was also a holding the ball call against Gulbin with 2:30 to go which was lightning quick. At the other end I would say Collins was lucky to get a holding the ball which could have gone the other way and was quite fast so maybe those two frees even out. I try not to consider the overall free count too much (they had double our count) because it removes all context and we know home sides get an edge in that department. We should have played better to off-set any advantage in frees......

Trying to work out how we are so far down the free kick ladder this year.

Interesting pattern of the games that weren’t roughly even on frees, not one had landed our way.
7 of them were wins!

Beat Richmond, frees 14-20
Lost to Essendon, frees 14-22
Beat Hawthorn, frees 12-21
Beat Sydney, frees 20-28
Beat North, frees 20-26
Smashed by Bulldogs, frees 15-22
Beat GWS, frees 16-29
Beat Melbourne, frees 13-21
Beat Carlton, frees 21-28
Lost to Hawthorn, frees 14-21
Lost to Adelaide, frees 21-33

And now the last two games v Freo and v GC, we get the run of the green finally.

Forgive me if I’m not too upset for Dimma and the GC boys tonight.

Balanced.

But geewizz, what was it that was put in the Suns oranges? I think they were doped, snuck one, spiked, what other explanation for forgetting how to kick mark see hear and run?

You were robbed, but you got one against Adelaide earlier...just wish the even up didn't basically lock up top 4 for Collingwood. Surely can't lose to Essendon...

You guys are right, the SA team got special treatment tonight.

The AFL needs to closely look at this and make sure Adelaidians don't get special treatment for the remainder of the year. Even it up if you must.
Or double down to show they aren't bias against either SA teams and give us the same treatment????

Was standing next to a fellow Port supporter just before fulltime.
We got paid a free.
He says, '"oh they're finally gonna pay them our way".
I just looked at him and showed him the free kick count on the AFL app.
"Oh really, hadn't noticed"
Fmd.
Probably just automatically conceded to our massive negative freekick differential.
