If anyone believes the AFL would prefer to have Collingwood in the 4 as opposed to Gold Coast in finals at all they are absolutely kidding themselves.

Umpires cost us last week which would have stitched up top 4.

Kidding yourself if you don't think the AFL would love the GC in 2 guaranteed finals.

GC2015 these were the sorts of games I had marked down for GC to need to win on the run home and therefore shake any "pretender" status. Top 4 was really there for the taking. They did beat Carlton but even that had a shaky finish. GWS walloped them up there, although you could say the impressive beatdown of Brisbane cancelled that out. However the away performance against Adelaide was a stinker too.

At this stage it looks like those close games in the unique NT sweat box are going to be the critical ones for securing a finals spot. But they need to start doing more elsewhere, start to finish for a season (without trailing off at the end), to truly be taken seriously. Maybe next year. But hell, there's still a very real chance they win a final and wash some of this stench away.

It would’ve been more on brand for Kenny and boak’s careers to end with an embarrassing loss

Well I must admit I was a bit like the umps, ie. caught up in the emotion of Kenny's last game. At least until half time, when I fell asleep.

You, Rowell and Anderson
Gold Coast still had a good season. Rowell and Anderson might even run 3rd and 4th in the Brownlow.

Problem is they get NO respect . because the Umps crucified them in this match . And probably would in any Finals match too , and just blame the in-experience of the players.

But after the euphoria of smacking the Lions at home at the Gabba recently , the season has got a bit Long for them.

The Sun's Have NO success to date at chasing a Finals spot. But are getting closer.

so hope you blokes gain some respect one day . some bloke even said "Fold the Club " seriously ? Freo and Giants haven't had a win yet in the Grand Final . Fold them too then ? :p ;)

Rowell and Noah are great ... but they were alseep last night. They just didn't get into the game at all

If you look at it from a purely financial point of view it makes sense. Way bigger crowds at games, TV ratings, media hype. The AFL is a business, I guess it's a stretch to say it operates like a business, finding any way to make a profit...

Yeah mate. Jury is definitely out on them now. Failed to fire twice with finals on the line and the footy gods have mercifully given them a third and final shot at it. I suspect we'll end up getting away with it by clinching a finals spot on Wednesday night, but it's certainly concerning. Hopefully the players learn the lesson without having to suffer the consequences of missing finals.

It is impossible to lose to this depleted Essendon outfit, but if it was anyone outside of the bottom 4, I'd be worried.

Earlier wins mean you can't begrudge them qualifying, but it's a disappointing way to enter a debut finals campaign. Maybe with expectations lowered, they go and surprise people by knocking someone out in an EF.

It's not impossible. We've seen crazier things happen, but I accept that we should be strong favourites heading into this Essendon game.

Who knows, mate. At this point we can finish 6th, 7th, 8th or 9th and that means we may be heading to Melbourne, Sydney or potentially even staying home on the GC if results fall our way. I'll just be happy if we qualify at this point because it doesn't look like we're going to do much damage this year.

Well this match against Port was about as FIXED a match as you will ever see , and the Suns only just got beat on the scoreboard after all that. 4 points or something. At a ground they haven't won at with hostile crowd.

Should be ok against Essendon at home , with a lot less of those obstacles to battle . .... fingers crossed lol.
