Today was a very emotional day for me as I was at a funeral where we laid to rest a very passionate Tigers fan and sitting there today thinking about how she lived her life and remained loyal to her friends/family regardless of what went on around her and her health battles, it caused me to re-evaluate my opinion of this situation with Dusty.

The way he has dragged his feet and seemingly put cash ahead of the relationships he has built up with his team mates, coaches and other off field staff at Richmond, I'd rather he take one of the offers that are presented to him by a rival club and take his off field issues elsewhere. I'd much rather the club put it's time and effort into rewarding players who are taking less money than they would otherwise get to stay here and help build the club back to being a powerhouse it once was.

So while it may hurt to lose a very good player right now I back the club, in particular Hartley/FJ and then Hardwick and the other coaches to get the player/s we get in place of Dustin to continue the job they set out to do back in September 2009. So get to it guys, get the best deal that you can for the clubs future and lets move on towards 2014.

I have no problem if a player leaves for the right reasons ala Ottens. But I don't think dusty is and is getting some really poor advice which is the issue imo.

HAHAHA...
Please don't mention Brad Ottens name.

And what were Ottens' reasons?
He wanted to be carried to glory by walking into a great team? Yep.

Harder to play well in a crap team, than come along for the ride, and downhill ski with a gun team.

He needs to watch the interview with Vlaustin on the website. Now there is a kid that loves the club. "Richmond will improve if the bottom 6 players improve. So if I improve richmond will improve"
And to top if off "I hate Carlton even more now and don't want to loose to them again"

It's the old saying "you don't know what you've got until its gone"

**** off Martin, I couldn't give a shit if you haven't left yet. Your not 100% committed and that's what is needed for a flag. We are bigger than one player and will move on and be better for it.

"The Richmond Football Club is the world to me. They've been amazing in supporting me and i'm just gonna give everything back to them"
Martin when asked if he wants to stay a one-club player..
"Yeah definitely, as I said Richmond have been fantastic, words can't describe how good they've been to me."

Reminds me of Tom Scully. Doesn't look good at the moment. :(

**** I love Tigga.

See this morning that Ralph Carr was sup posed to be interveiwed on Triple mmm with Eddy and Mick Malloy ,he rang in and said he is not going to do because of Mick and the abuse he would cop:D
Wouldnt expect any less from the scum who doesn't have his clients best interests at heart other than a few extra $..More important things in life than money you flog..

I don't understand the reasoning that it's ok to leave a club for a lot more money but not for a little more money.

Money should be well down the list of priorities and for most AFL players, that still seems to be the case. Culture, opportunities (both playing and post career), development (professional and personal) among other things should be placed ahead of football.

Using Ablett as an example. Sure the money was huge but he had a couple of flags up his sleeve, the opportunity to lead a new club from scratch and try and help build a premiership team in a great climate would have been pretty tempting also.

Scully left a club that was in disarray. I reckon a few other blokes wished they had have jumped ship also. A few followed a year later and there will probably be more this year despite Roos coming on board.

Goddard had given everything he had for the Saints and came up just short. He wanted to have another crack at a flag.

Money seems to be the one and only reason Dusty is testing the waters elsewhere and he may spend the rest of his career/life wishing he had better/smarter people in his corner because this could completely blow up in his face, if it hasn't already.

I hope he smartens up and stays.

For some maybe, many of us will never forget. Will we cheer as he goals? You bet but I will be cheering the tigers not his finishing effort.

Ideally I'd love to hear that he re-signs and then have that scenario play out next season v Carlton. He'll be known as a flawed Tiger, but a Tiger nonetheless. :)

You want good news?

Tune in tonight on CH7 for the soapy "Winners and Losers" and checkout the great man Richo and his acting debut. Only lasts for a few seconds, and i dont think he has a line, but worthy of taping and fast forwarding to check him out. :D
Does he pop up in the gay bar ?;)

Just seen on the news that GWS are keen to get him for nothing in the PSD :(

Regardless if this happens or not this rule needs to be changed. We shouldn't have got Houli for nothing and neither should GWS with Martin.

Only guys delisted should be eligible for the PSD not guys willing to walk knowing the first club in the PSD are waiting for them. Everyone else should be made sit out a year :thumbsu:
