Ralph Carr is representing a kid who would be digging holes if it wasn't for football..... he isn't a Cotchin that would succeed in the outside world. He is a gifted footballer that has a limited time to cash in on his career.... If any player needed every cent out of football that he could possible get its dusty.

Hi Ralph, thanks for being part of this forum and putting forward your case, but in reality (which obviously is a place you are not use to) Dusty is already getting shitloads of $.

At what stage can we not agree to terms with Dustin Martin. If he nominates for the PSD can we still contract him and take him off the market because doesn't his contract run until November anyways?

No, from memory, uncontracted players have to be signed/told they will be moved on before list lodgement, to provide them the opportunity to hold talks with other clubs, and nominate for the draft.

If Billy Brownless can make a decent life after football, and be a one club player, I'm sure anyone can.

PLEASE READ THIS PEOPLE.

Do the majority of people in this thread live in lala land? What drugs are you people on? GWS are not giving us pick 1 for Martin.

No they must offer a trade. They cannot force a player into the PSD. If the AFL considers the offer from GWS fair and we do not accept they'll say that's fine he can go into the PSD if they do not consider it fair they will force GWS to the negotiation table and mediate to provide a fair outcome.

You sure about this?

People have their heads in the sand if they don't think Richmonds offer is the type of invitation you hand to somebody when you half hope they turn up but will make the best if it if they do as nut refers to.
Richmond have been open to trading him for a while now and probably are very comfortable with how it sits.
If he stays hell stay on our terms but the offer is definitely one that says "we are happy for you to look around if you want more".
Great business from us yet again. I don't care what happens really.
If he stays hopefully we keep him on track. If he leaves ill happily take what we can get.

Ouch

You have your view, respect others too mate

You're asking me to respect others when they are showing none towards Martin.

Oh the irony.

On this. If you think Dusty was the one who typed those tweets your wrong, should come out soon if it has not broken tomorrow. The suspicion is it was Ralph using Dustys tweet account to clarify issues. One reason why Dusty has not gone to the media himself, you think he would if he wanted to tweet to the world to clarify why would he not simply just picked up the phone and ring SEN?

He has not gone to the media himself because he did not type those tweets :)

I am not referring to the tweets & honestly don't give a rats fat who created them. All I am saying is that Buddy's future will be revealed in a professional manner without the utter crap we are reading, watching and hearing about Martin and his influential puppeteer Ralph Carr.

Like the NBA if the powers that be deem a trade or situation unfair then it won't happen.

If GWS want martin they will have to trade and fairly as well

I hadn't heard this but it would make sense. '

Encouraging a player into the PSD, so you can get them for free at pick 1 is a pretty ugly manipulation of the system. If you get compensation for free agent moves, how could you not in this situation? It not only gives GWS unfair leverage over us, it equally gives them an unfair advantage over Melbourne.

You sure about this?

Happened originally with Caddy in 2011 and its why the AFL looked into the Tippet deal so closely when they saw it was unders.

It's the same reason we offered reasonable compo for Houli before he went to PSD and why Collingwood offered wellingham for Ball. Why Melbourne payed pick 12 for Clark, nobody below them in the PSD was going to offer Clark what Melbourne would.

Thought so... You look at every notable PSD pick up and there were trade offers before they went there.

Just to clarify, why didn't St.Kilda take Wellingham then?
